Iv gone a little oldschool with what iv bought, Simonez Original gold wax. Reading the reviews this stuff is the genuine stuff for a great finish but its not foolproof at all and it is literally rub and buff immediately as it goes like rock incredibly quickly.

Wasn't bad at 3 quid for a 150g tin worth a go!

Tried this, was a nightmare to buff off. Any tips? I did 1/4 of the boot once and stopped it was that difficult and I wasn't exactly slapping it on.

Any recommendation on a liquid wax paste? I have used the Autoglym HD Wax and pretty impressed, just takes a while to put on.

Dump your applicator pad in hot water, squeeze the water out and bam into wax can.. !

Helped me with application of colinite 476! Not sure how well that will work on other waxes but worth a shot, it softens it up a little

For paste wax from a bottle, I found 3G super resin REALLY easy to apply and wipe off.

Collinite Insulator Wax is just as easy but it's best to warm that up in a bowl of warm water to loosen it up, the bottle is also not that well designed to get it out but otherwise, it is very good.

Will give that a go, but to be honest it was more the buffing it off that was just ridiculous and borderline impossible, any tips for that or will dampening the applicator pad make it easier to buff off?

I watched this video last night on the Meguiar's X-press Spray Wax, almost 4Litres for £30, which is cheap and would last years.

Check out this video.

When I am done with my Aquawax I am going to use this instead, the multi-purpose element seems really good.

Making the pad damp just makes it easier to put on. If it's hard to buff either the wax is crap or you haven't cleaned your paint properly (clay or polish).

Just used AF Triple on my nephews Z4. Gives a great finish and is a bit easier to work with than SRP. At nearly 4 times the prices it should be better!

Gave my nephew a hand today with his first ever proper detail session.

Megs Gold wash
G3 Clay mitt
Auto Finesse Tripple Polish
Farecla G3 Super Gloss Paste Wax

Fresh from an all day (with a break for F1 and Sunday lunch) cleaning session.

I know people will hate on the white, but it really is a very nice colour in my mind.

Hopefully this Poor Boys wheel sealant will keep the wheels silver for longer than three days...

Two bucket wash with Meguiars ultimate wash and wax,
Went over with a G3 clay mitt and Meguairs Ultimate Quik Detailer,
Collinite 845 wax,
Poor boys wheel sealant on the wheels.

Ive never been one for "detailing" but decided to try harder with a nice car. No idea if the stuff above is good, but the clay mitt is a doddle to use and impressed my dad.

Poor boys sealant smells awesome, hopefully it works :p

Dk, dont normally like white but you've got that looking amazing! The pearlescent effect is really showing through.

Thanks. I was prepared to be disheartened when I finished and then sun had disappeared behind other buildings, but it's still come out quite well. Even when dirty it looks like that when the sun shines on it, so I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow morning in full on sun :D

Almost makes the effort worth it :p

Used the G3 clay mitt today, doesn't soak water like conventional sponge so takes longer, but gliding is effortless on grey side and it picks up a lot of muck.

Hopefully acemastr won't mind the big pictures :p

P.s it wasn't that sunny ;)

The huge pictures wouldn't be a problem if they actually added any detail, but the sensor that took those is so poor a quarter of that size would have been just as good.

:)

Sorry mr photo I'm on my phone and couldn't resize :p

Anyway resized now ;)
