a glaze is a pure polish that does not contain any abrasives or cleaning agent or so I am told ;)

as above

its usually applied before sealant to gve it some extra bling

Think of EZ Creme Glaze and Jetseal 109 as Autoglym SRP and EGP with the SRP taking the role of the glaze, and the EGP of the sealant.

well I have the mits , buckets, shampoo and micro fiber cloth already

So I have to get:

clay
polish
glaze
wax

although I was thinking about getting Blackfire gloss enhancing polish that has a glaze in it as well or so they say ?? http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/blackfire-gloss-enhancing-polish-polish.html and for the wax I was going to get Poorboys Natty's blue.

Budget I guess £50-60

for that budget I'd get the meguiars clay/QD kit , Werkstat Prime Carnauba and Werkstat Carnauba Jet, you can get all that for £55.11 delivered at polished bliss

What's the diff with Megs clay kit to the Sonus kit + detailer?

I don't have an orbital but will have a weekend attempt at manual slight swirl correction with a new clay kit in the coming weekends then add several layers of 476s after SRP.

I've only used Sonus claybars before if I remember right!

oh yea and a glaze is neither a polish/wax/sealant, it's just a product packed with fillers and oils designed for enhancing the overall finish and hiding defects, it offers nothing in the way of protection or polishing

nothing really, they are all much of a muchness imo

p.s. clay kits dont remove swirls, they just remove surface contaminants

This

use claybar for removing stubborn tar deposits and and just general dirt that gets bonded to the car that normal washing wont remove.

This sort of dirt can come off when polishing, and theres nothing worse than rubbing dirt into your car when your supposed to be polishing it !

Hmm saves me £20 odd then :p

So shy of buying a rotary what would be the 2nd best way to remove slight swirl marks? I'm looking mainly on the bonnet and roof/boot lid !

I have SRP which is fine but of course SRP is too mild to remove even light swirl marks.

i kinda thought that might be the case. smooths the finish, not by cutting back (abrasively or chemically) but it adds to it, filler wise

why is that a supprise

are people with learning disabilities incapable of holding down relationships ?

He quite obviously has OCD, and I see no reason to ridicule him for this. Unless doing this inflates your epeen ?

Get down off that horse. He wasted a ridiculous amount of time and money on cleaning a car new from the dealer, what's more it's a Vauxhall. Lambo or Ferrari yes, an overpriced VXR, nahh.

Can anyone recommend a good hand polish? (Not SRP, seeing as that is mostly fillers)

Do Menzerna do a polish that can be worked by hand?

and people with OCD waste hours washing their hands 10 times each time before they're satisifed

whats your point ?

I didn't see anywhere where he mentioned he was OCD or needed to wash his hands 10x each time (of what denominator?) therefore I don't see the your point against me for ridiculing a guy who wasted so much fortune of time and money on a VAUXHALL VXR
