Cleaning protecting Vinyl Hoods?

Replaced my old knackerd split one yesterday with a second hand but in extremely good condition hood and I'd like to keep it that way.

I know a few people have recommended Renovo for Mohair, should I just grab the Renovo kit designed for Vinyl or something else?

I've used the autoglym one. Worked brilliant, just was hard to use, any protector on the paintwork was a right pain to get off

I'm not convinced of the value of wheel sealant - being able to wash the wheel clean with soapy water is more a product of not leaving your wheels months between cleans. I do exactly this with mine and I've not applied sealant.

Yes my wheels don't usually get too dirty, I blame the recent resurfacing of a few local roads!

I'm sure someone who actually uses wheel sealant can reason why they do.

One routine I might have to change is tyre dressing, as it gets onto the wheels and leaves marks. So instead of spraying going to try applying using a sponge instead.

I never got on with a aerosol spray based tyre shine, too messy and patchy. I'm using the AG Spray one at the moment and am happy with it.

Applied BSD two weeks ago, came to wash it today and not only did the dirt come off with ease, when I dried it the water went straight onto the MF towel instead of being smeared around. Impressive stuff.

I just use Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care. Brings up the roof on my mx5 like new and leaves the vinyl supple. Just remember to buff it off otherwise it can cause streaks on the rear glass window when you drop the roof if you don't.

I stick some wheel sealant on twice a year. Once when the wheels come off the car, and again before they go back on. Of course, I am swapping between winter and summer wheels.

Don't really know if it makes much difference to be honest. I assume it does, but I'm generally pretty lax about washing my motors. Heck, I think I've only polished the 5 series twice in my ownership.

I found this, after applying two coats of the PoorBoys wheel sealant, I found it wasn't worth it at all given I clean my wheels once or twice a month anyway. I thought the benefit was that dirt doesn't stick as much or in bad weather, grim will run off as opposed to sticking, but I didn't find it did that at all well either

The best wheel "sealant" I have found is brake pads that don't release as much dust. I have cans of Alloy Wheel Seal that only get used once every blue moon if I have the time. A simple wipe with a cloth is all that's needed to reveal the diamond cut and anthracite as if it was just washed. That is with or without wheel sealant.

If there isn't beading on everything, you're nothing m8

I've just started using Dragons Breath and the pressure washer. Probably doesn't get them clean enough to eat your dinner off, but means I don't have to touch them.

Actually, on the wheel sealant topic, I sealed my wheels yesterday with Gtechniq C5. Absolute crap. I cleaned them with wheel cleaner, tardis, red7, and normal soap, then I clayed them and then IPA'd them. I applied the C5 as directed, apply it and then gently wipe to remove the residue.

A day later going to fit the wheels, there are streaks and it doesn't bead or remove water, it's just as if they had no sealant on them. So I polished them again with M105 and applied Fk1000p and they are shiny, nice and smooth and bead like there is no tomorrow!

Seems odd as it should definitely work rather well!

Some shots of CarPro Inside. Firstly on fabric (probably make up stains...)

Bit more difficult on half leather, but after cleaning the right side you can see the dirty glossiness of the untouched left.

Obligatory beading pic....

I'll put it up again as people are crying it's too big on their monitors when i've checked and its not lol.
