knackered, full on foam, rinse, wash, rinse/semi dry, iron x, rinse, clay glove, wash, rinse, dry, ag hd wax, wheels(lobbed some sonax I had left on them, not sure its anygood for wheels...), tyres dressed, windows in and out cleaned, exhausts polished.

Time for quick shower and obligatory sparkling clean car pointless drive. :D

Then interior clean tomorrow morning.....

Yep i went out to take some snaps of my popping flake in the glorious sun this morning at 9am, and it was dust galore, i dont wantto hose it down, otherwise i'll end up with water spots:(

No idea how people are cleaning their cars in this weather. Maybe it is just a hard water area problem but any hint of sun and no matter how quick I work I get water marks that are a PITA to shift. I went out before 9:00 this morning and the sun was already beating down and the car warm to the touch.

Funny that always reminds me of the summertime song by will smith. When i were a lad, before i was a detailing geek, that was the whole point of a wash and polish, get out and show off the car and blast some tunes (yer i know) now i darent it drive lest it get dirty :D

This is where i find Sonax bsd fantastic as a drying aid.

Yeah I didn't start till 6.30pm. Also a hard water area and had to work quick when drying it. Also I kept moving the car to work on one side in the shade. :)

All, I have C5 Armour on the wheels and am finding the pressure washer only technique doesn't work which leaves me with 1) EZ Brush and Shampoo in a bucket or 2) Wheel Cleaner (Dragons Breath/Bilt Hamber).

If using the wheel cleaner, will it damage the coating of C5 Armour or will it still hold up? Finding it takes 15 minutes per wheel with shampoo and a brush (entire wheel) and tbh it is becoming quite tiring! (Especially when I find the rust from the discs go on the wheels after the wash...)

Doesn't sound like you've applied it properly if it's taking that long!

With a sealant a shampoo is supposed to be fine, but I don't see a ph neutral wheel cleaner removing the sealant but I could be wrong.

Applied correctly (took ages) did full clean, IPA wipedown etc. Just I am expecting the pressure washer to take everything off and I'm finding that after using the pressure washer, running my finger along the rim there are traces of dirt/brake dust still!

Wondering if a full proper clean, then maybe some hydro02 spray over the top will aid cleaning next time round?

Depends how clean you are expecting, I find with C5 if I pressure wash them off, they look clean to the eye, but if you get close or rub your finger it will obviously still have dust.

Yup, always the case.. the idea is that the dust etc is easy to remove and doesn't bake on the surface.

Interesting to see whether that would have any effect, sealant on top of sealant!

Also how often do you clean your wheels?

Fifteen minutes seems a lot for what should come off easily.

Spiders living in my wing mirrors are the absolute bane of my life! It's sweating hot here and I can't open the windows because as soon as I do they come running inside the car!

So I finally unboxed the Nilfisk pressure washer I bought in November 2015 (according to the Amazon receipt still in the box) and washed them away!

My car is a lease car which I'm giving back in September in exchange for something else, and I'll sheepishly admit I've not cleaned it once until today and I've had it since Sept 2015. So I figured weather permitting I'll try keeping on top of the cleaning now in preperation of it's return.

Anyhow, I got a shopping list together for Halfords because I wanted to try snow foam and made the trip today. They had everything I wanted except the snow foam and the lancet
So I got Demon Wash snow foam with the gun included, you just add a hose. It was good but it ran off quickly and a lot of dirt was still left on and wasn't easy to remove afterwards.
I rinsed it and washed again with Maguires Wash and Wax, rinsed again and dried with microfibre.

So after all that I'm gonna buy a snow foam lance on Amazon so I'm looking for suggestions on snow foam please. Something that's gonna stick on and work well on mud by the wheel arches and smushed flies and bugs on the bumper!

go for bilt hamber snow foam one of the best cleaning there is or try some koch chemie greenstar

If you have never washed the car before snow foam isnt going to do that much. Will loosen the dirt and make it easier to wash though.

That's why I did it, tried to minimise scratches by soaking it in foam first before rinsing. But I was hoping for a more 'solid' foam that stays on, not run straight off like this Demon Wash one.

Will look into those now, thanks!

What in your guys opinion is the best alloy wheel cleaner? I have the Meguiars Gold class shampoo for the bodywork and high gloss tyre gel for the tyres "both excellent" but my valet pro Bilberry wheel cleaner is not that impressive so any recommendations?

Will also depend on how you've got the mix set on the Lance, my foam is just a cheapish valet pro tub set to a relatively concentrated spray and it doesn't really run off at all.

As above it also unfortunately doesn't really do much, but I keep using it anyway!

I didn't get to buy a lance as they didn't have one, but the Demon Wash came with a built in one type thing

Gonna get this one off Amazon for my Nilfisk
