I get that it’s not cheap but the chemicals we buy are more overpriced than anything else and they’re a regular consumable. A lance is a one off purchase and so far I’ve never had a problem with the AB so I’d happily buy one again if I broke mine through negelence.

I have always used Collinite 915 to polish my car but now due to old age and weakening arms it kills my arms so I need a new polish that is good - is liquid and easy to spread and polish off.

i do use Car Lack 68 before polishing.

Any suggestions folks /

I haven't used it, but Collinite 845 is a liquid wax. Not sure how it rates versus other liquid waxes.

Thanks for the heads up on the Nilfisk @ £55, pre-ordered.

Which eBay snow foam is everyone using that “does the job”, £7 is it?

Washed ‘my car’. Some foam and then some top gloss. Really needs a good wax as it’s black but looks great when freshly washed. Great car to drive too.

Cheers @Jonnycoupe for doing most the washing

I have just bought some bilt hamber autofoam for £20 so will wash the Saab with it and report back as it should be delivered today. Have use CyC foam, Magifoam and Chemical guys foam. Magifoam has been the best for me but have heard good things about the bilt hamber stuff and it is around £15 cheaper than Magifoam.

I'm finding it very difficult to motivate myself to clean the car at the minute. Just gets filthy straight away again.
So karcher k5 or nilfisk p150 for quick car cleaning and patio. Something maybe with a dispenser so I could put some shampoo and wax in.

Depends what you want from the foam.

The bilt hamber stuff is basically a concentrated film remover, does the job but if you want to spray and forget, come back and take 90% of the worst off with a pressure washer, the magifoam wins hands down.

Yes it is good for that but leaves a horrible mess on the drive but that is its only downfall. I find snowfoam a bit like beer. Try them all then keep with the one you like the most!

This could be a daft question but rather ask then waste time.

Gave my new car a proper wash a few weeks ago which included being clayed, machine polished with AG Super Resin and two coats of AG EGP. Looked fantastic but with the snow we had since then it's looking a bit sorry for itself.

What's the best way cleaning it again without undoing all the work I did? My usual non-detailing wash is snow foam, jet off, snow foam as lubricant for the wool mitt, jet off, dry then a spray detailer on top.

The non-detailing wash you describe is also known as a maintenance wash, and is exactly what you should be doing in between what you refer to as a proper wash (which would be 2-3 times a year)... :)

Finally got round to cleaning car today - not done because weathers been bad and also might put a few swirls on it - Today I got the snow foam bottle out which I have taken apart and cleaned (tried cleaning car a week ago ) read the instructions on snow foam bottle and had my first successfull thick foam job to date. - Does anyone else think that the snow foam leaves a greasy film behind ?? I then gave it a quick wash with good shampoo and dried it off - It will be another month before it gets the start of the year clean and that takes me two days - Arms not up to it anymore. and also got to put alloys back on.

Washed the car last week, went out this weekend and it's already filthy again. I really hate this time of year, especially combined with a black car. Unfortunately due to work commitments it'll be the weekend at the earliest before it can be done...
