The side windows on my car have a lot of water spots, was wondering if a diluted solution of citric acid would be worth using? I have a load for descaling the kettle etc. was thinking making a bottle up with some in, spraying onto the window, leaving for a bit and seeing it it shifts it?

White vinegar is a good descaler too, worth a punt?

Evening gents, I seriously looking at replacing my pressure washer. My Nilfisk c120, started playing up last year and I battled on with it. I think it the pressure switch, is failing, Iv used it twice this year and both times Iv found it to be very annoying. I would really like a Kranzle but can’t justify the price for a weekend warrior. So what’s the next best thing that won’t break the bank.

Not sure about the budget but I'm looking to sell my Karcher K4 and pick up an AVA instead, recommended one to a colleague recently having been recommended them by a friend. I actually used his last weekend and was very impressed with his Go Series model.

I'm thinking of getting a pressure washer and i'm wondering if there comes a point when having a hose that's too long will cause a reduction in flow and/or pressure? I haven't measured yet but I might need a hose between 30-50 metres for washing my car.

When inquired with Direct Hoses for my 20m hose they said a loss of about 3-4%
Their house is excellent by the way, make you one any size you want with any fittings.

Thanks, for the tip they look very different from the usual pressure washer. Certainly look a rival for Karcher. I did just notice the master series has a 20 year warranty when I had a quick look. Will have a proper look tomorrow.

They've been in the UK for a few years now, I got the heads up through Detailing World and actually just ordered a P60 Evolution this evening myself. Part of their USP is not only that they're designed very well but also built to last. Karcher offered me an 6 month warranty on a repair fee that was not much less than a new machine which would have come with a 5 year warranty... If I had a quid for every time my K4 tipped over I'd have enough for an AVA :p

The 20 year warranty requires you to carry out a DIY self-service once every 5 years, the parts are provided at cost and they'll do this for you if preferred, presumably not for free.

Not sure but have ordered 3..

Never had issues with any products from AF that I have used and happy to try something new, will check some reviews out on my lunch.

Ty for heads up.

Cool I picked up one too. Usually use meguiars endurance but this was good value

Got the wet vac out for my mats. Absolutely grim

Washed the mini today. I forget how quick it is to wash. Hoping I got all the remaining green algae off the corners of the soft top. You can’t beat a brush for getting into all the nooks.

The TTRS gets a good clean tomorrow. 2 weeks is the longest it’s gone without a wash. It’s picked up a lot of grime from flooded roads this week.

Meguiars car wash plus is ridiculously good for glass and grimy nooks with a tiny bit on the (soft) brush.

Results look good. Silly question probably but do you have to vaccum them normally before you go in with water, or just straight in?

I did, just so I didn't clog up the wet vac. Then you just spray the cleaner mix with the vac head and then suck out the grime. Took three passes to get some clean water back out.

Any recommendations on how to get this tar like glue substance off my alloys?

So far I've tried:

ValetPRO Citrus Tar Glue Remover
Diamondbrite Tar & Glue Remover

Neither of them really touch it, if I keep going over and over it with a microfiber cloth it does begin to break down but on the thicker bits it's hopeless. Obviously I don't want to use anything too strong that begins to damage the clear coat either.

Going to stick a longer lasting coating on now the weather is better, going with a glaze/filling polish as I don't have a DA yet. Hopefully it'll come out nice.

For a £40 karcher k1 too!

Heh, that definitely bucks the trend :p

A DA is my next purchase when it comes time to polish the car again. I think it’ll be due in a few months.
