Not had chance to use it properly but tried a high dilution of Magifoam in the IK Foamer with good results!

Anyone with a “Foaming” pump sprayer what products do you tend to use and at what dilution ratio’s?

I figured some of you may have already done some “trial and error”

only once in my maralax foamer 3L

300ml of BH autofoam, rest water

now i have a battery operated pump sprayer and i use 100ml of BH Autofoam in my 2L pump sprayer (i think)

I’ve always skipped BH Autofoam because of having work out PIR.

Might give BH Touchless a go… or some Wheel Shampoo / Soap.

What is PIR? You mean the rate it gets sucked up?

I've never bothered measuring it (tried once) and just stick 200ml in with 600ml water. Seems to be OK.
 
Yeah PIR is one of those things you do once, and unless you change your pressure washer or lance then you've got the ratio set in stone. For foamers it's even easier as the amount of water is a known quantity so calculating 4% is easy.

I tried a rinseless wash the other week (McKee's 37 N-914 and their big gold sponge). It was an extremely alien experience coming from the usual pre-wash, 2BM routine. The car was 'clean' from a couple of feet away as in dust and light dirt was removed, but there was no way it was removing stubborn organic matter such as bug splatter and those yellow dots you get.

It was also scary cleaning the lower parts of the car because one wipe, and the sponge surface was caked. So I kept wiping once and rinsing the sponge.

Those who are pro-rinseless say I should use some APC or bug remover on those stubborn things but then you're just re-complicating a process that's supposed to be easier than getting all your equipment out. Those stubborn stains would be lifted off with pressure washer after a blanket of Touch-less.
 
Advise regarding PIR taken on board.. I did look into Bilt Hamber - Snowfoams as they often are regarded the best cleaning power wise.

But with 4% PIR I imagine a fair bit of product is used? Where as with any foams I’ve used before I tend to only need 100ML.

Quite impressed with the IK Foamer for the wheels, not sure if Magifoam is too thick/dry even with the intermediate tip so will have a play around with products and dilution ratio’s.

For me 4% is 300ml of product to 700ml of water - so 16 washes out of a 5ltr bottle of Touch-less which I think is c. £22 these days, so £1.37 a wash. It's a little on the steep side I guess but I don't trust anything else pre-wash wise to clean as well.

A lot of snow foams out there are just complete junk that don't do anything but look fancy (AG Polar is one). I know Wax Planet 8 Below is well regarded too, and a lot on here like magifoam which I'll admit I've never used.

Long story short I don't trust any company that says to dilute a snow foam in a cannon to x ratio because the dilution hitting the car will vastly differ from set up to set up.
 
Just gave the front interior a deep clean using LRC leather cleaner, and P&S Xpress Interior. The P&S product is absolutely fantastic, lathers up nicely, smells incredible and leaves a matte finish without any over spray difficulties.

Couldn't believe the grime lifted from the leather dashboard as not like there's any need to touch that unlike the leather around the steering wheel and gear lever.

They say sponges work better than mitts and cloths for rinseless wash. The sponges are open cell and have groves cut into them.

The science behind it, according to those who pioneered rinseless wash is that the sponge pulls in the encapsulated dirty and also releases the dirt better than a mitt when dunked into a solution of rinseless wash.

My paint is immaculate as it was corrected and ceramic coated with CSU, and I can't see any damage. Was a weird experience though and my girlfriend also noticed something on a video featuring the guy who really peddles rinseless wash.

See 28.18 in: lots of what appears to be fine dirt on the panel even after cleaning and drying. He's using a 'drying aid' too, so doubt those marks when the guy zooms onto the panel are water marks.


Basically, I'm not entirely sold on the idea.
 
Guys would really appreciate some recommendations for a decent reliable DA Polisher.

What to buy & from who please?

Someone keyed my stunning brand new Renaultsport Megane at the weekend on 3 different panels causing extensive damage :mad: I managed to buff out by hand with Meguiars polishing compound 1 of the scratches but the other 2 panels are through the clearcoat to the primer. I am not having any luck getting anyone who wants to do the repair (I am paying myself instead of going through the insurance) even for cash or cleared funds :eek: as it's a really hard colour to match as triple layer pearlescent. Most want to do the entire side of the car to ensure it matches this means the 2 doors, side pillars & front wing as well (but nothing wrong with them so I do not want to pay the massive cost of having the entire side of the car done!).

So I am going to attempt something I have seen on a car detailers YT video which will conceal most of the damage. This is to precision paint a thin line of the premixed pearl paint with lacquer into the scratched lines then gently wetsand with 2000-3000 emery & polish & buff as this is my only option to try to conceal vs entire car side respray :(

That method conceals most of the damage its far cheaper for me to spend £200-300 on DIYing that vs £2-3K for an entire respray of the car on the righthand side!!

Yep same car I posted pictures of here! Not much point going through the insurance it will push the premium up a lot! The money is not a problem I have plenty of savings to cover the repairs finding someone who is willing to do the job is a big issue its one of the hardest colours to match apparently.....!

My only options are:
1: DIY it to conceal them via the paint a thin line of paint into the scratches then buff & polish as much as possible.
2: Find someone willing to do the job who can match the colour without painting the entire side of the car!
3: Send back to Renaultsport in France who will not be much dearer than finding someone in UK who wants to do the job! :rolleyes:

3 scratches here altogether near the fuel filler cap then 1 on the corner of the rear bumper diffuser section.

Then also this longer scratch on the rear bumper diffuser section near the top. The pearlescent paint reflects & scatters light so impossible to video or take pics of properly but all scratches fail the pour water over them to disappear test & are straight through to the primer and perhaps 0.25mm deep so this is why I am thinking of DIYing with premixed paint into the lines then polish & buff away until they blend more than they do right now! There was also another scratch on the boot hatch which I managed to buff away earlier by hand with some Meguiars polishing compound. The entire car has a Renault Gard-X ceramic coating so that probably stopped some of the keying damage as its rock hard! So yeah if anyone knows of a good DA polisher please as I need to buy one soon! TIA :)
