The Crew....PS4

I wasnt saying that as if to say why is their anything wrong with it, just I never looked at it after seeing the style of it in the release vids, they cars and physics looked terrible to me.

What was wrong with it?

When I first saw the Crew over a year ago I thought it looked or at least sounded great and had high hopes for it.

I think it just didn't live up to what I was expecting, it wasn't to the scale I was expecting, it looked like a level from Watchdogs, the handling was poor and felt like I'd played it all 10 years ago etc.

Should point out that it was the PC version I played...

Yea just watched the videos you posted.

Whats going on with the driving physics?....GTAV looks to have better handling than this.

I don't want to judge too much from Facebook videos because they're horribly compressed, but visually it didn't look very appealing at all.

Also why do these developers insist on forcing in these dumb, hollow storylines and characters into racing games now? Have they not yet realised that they add absolutely nothing of value to the actual game? I'd rather play as a generic, voiceless head-in-a-crash-helmet than endure yet another game in the role of Martin "The Wheelman" Dean on an undercover operation for the police/the FBI/revenge against the top racer guy "Mr GT" who you can't get near without first having to race against everyone in the region for some reason.

Fired up the beta and enjoyed the very first bit being pursued, then it seemed to just turn into a generic street racer. Physics arn't too bad but the cars do feel overly weighty, will keep playing for more thoughts.

A few missions in, ok it's nothing ground breaking but I'm actually enjoying it. Cars can be tuned for different environments i.e. street or offroad. It doesn't look amazing, pretty last gen really. Physics, again the cars are too weighty, at speed when you need to avoid a another car this weight really starts to come in to play and you can easily get a good old tank slapper on.

"Awkward drive mechanics, they feel too arcadey I mean stupidly arcadey not good. The graphics feel better placed for PS3, The story makes no logical sense and the voice acting is lazy"

It's an arcade game. What on earth did you expect?

I played the Xbone beta this morning and it's really bad, the graphics are terrible, no better than a 360 and there was one point at the start of the second race where it was panning into the city and it honestly looked like something from a PS2!

The handling is terrible and often feels like your input has no relevance, I was actually fed up by the first race when a police truck that had gone onto its roof still managed to have control and ram into me... shocking.

DAIR "IT'S AN ARCADE GAME, WHAT ON EARTH DID YOU EXPECT....." won't like that^^^^

I'm still hopeful though.

I feel embarrassed I liked it now lol.

Its a huge game and there's always stuff to do, that's what appealed to me. Also I got used to how it handled and it was fine.

If you take it for what it is, an arcade racer, then it can be a laugh with others. I played the pc beta and got to the level cap (10).
