***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

The latest CAP doesn't stop the flickering, going by the thread on Guru3d with people suffering from it. It does help with the crossfire scaling though.

You need to rename the exe or force the Bioshock crossfire profile using RadeonPro to stop the flickering, but in turn that reduces the crossfire scaling atm.

Just had a quick go of this, It looks nice some of the close up textures are pretty awfull and low res but overall it looks nice. If the xbox version looks like this then wow thats some achievement..
My biggest gripe with the game is i'm running 1920x1080 at hardcore settings and it plays perfect on my 5770 which is a pain as I have just bought a 5870...:(

Oh and the xbox wireless pad works perfectly with this just move the stick and it converts all the controls to the pad and plays like an xbox..

news around Bioshock profile fix this issue but once you hit the 4x MSAA then its back again with the flickering...

This is 100% pure console port with nothing new added. Its a shame really its not a bad looking game but todays pc's can do so much more.
I just look at it that I saved money over the 360 version.

Interestingly i just saw a tv advert for this game and when they were showing gameplay it said "PC Footage" at the bottom.

I'll pick this up near the end of the year for a tenner, once I've finished having fun with shogun2/portal2/witcher2/shift2/ etc. etc.

Console ports come last for me :p

Anyone else getting it from EADM? Its absolutely destroying my hard drives, got a couple not too old hitachi's in raid 0 with ssd as main drive. It usually downloads an image as a single normal file from EADM, then you can choose to install as and when you want but this seems to be, judging from resource monitor, downloading it all into a zip file, then extracting it and installing at the same time as the install folder is filling up rather than anywhere else. Also judging by all the files open and being writen to, rather than do one file at a time it seems to be taking bytes of data from a dozen files at the same time.

So basically constant random tiny file writing all over the drive, which would make sense with all the massive amount of chugging its doing, by chugging I mean that horrible noise HDD's do when they are under stupid workload of mostly tiny files.

Why EA are downloading it like that rather than a nice continuous zip file I have no freaking clue, my cache is actually set on a separate backup drive and its set to download there, but its completely ignoring it, just downloading it as an installed game it seems.

It also managed to ask before download what language to install in, yet is still downloading all the language packs, truly retarded, no idea why, every other dl from EA, including Crysis 1 earlier, has been great. The only upside is (with roughly 10-12mbit connection) its maxing my download out at 1MB/s easily, Steam is almost always slow as all hell on a game release, Assasins Creed Brotherhood on steam was a nightmare.
