***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I am also getting very bad flickering

its a crossfire problem according to a quick google :(

anyone know how to disable crossfire on a 5970?

Well having played a bit tonight I found some interesting (or maybe not...) things. It feels like a console port with all the "hidden" in plain sight collectables that unlock music tracks and pictures and so on.

The 3 graphical modes have an absolute minimal impact of visual quality but have at least 30fps impact on framerates.

In Hardcore (which is what it chose by default) my GTX460 gets 30-40fps, 30s indoors and 40s outdoors but it's about as smooth as Crysis 1. This is at 1920x1200 btw.

In Gamer mode I get 60fps wherever and it's butter smooth.

I also found comical AI bugs where NPCs get stuck walking round a barrier and they just stand there moonwalking yelling "HE'S HERE! MAN DOWN! BLAAAH!! etc.

It just felt too dumbed down whereas Crysis felt "PC" even if it was demanding.

Obvious console port is obvious.

i just playing it in windowed mode for the time being cba to install this radeon pro shizzle will wait for a patch i can live with a bar accross my screen.

Obvious console port is obvious. very true :(

What ID did you guys use to login? was it the one on mycrysis website at the top right of your screen? i used that and it doesn't work. :(

I logged in Dead Space 2 fine aswell which is wierd.

for the love of Jesus, its not a port, please read the following article, describes how a 'port' is a game that is designed for one platform (i.e. consoles) and then its converted to run on another platform. Crysis II is not a port by any definition, it is a multi-platform game, designed from the start to be multi-platform.

Yea... It works now. But I have to admit it feels a lot different to Crysis 1. Whne the game opens up on the submarine I thought the graphics were pretty good. But now that I'm in game (only just done the beach) it looks a bit naff. Mainly the textures. What were they thinking!? Close ups of objects are terrible and I used the zoom feature and just happened to scan the skyscraper skyline and... Oh My God does not even cover it.... The textures on the distant buildings were PS2 like.

It's a problem for multi Gpu in general not just crossfire. Seen some people with sli getting the same thing, others not getting it. Seems a bit random.

don't know whether you guys know but DX11 has been pulled from wiki, nvidia and the cryengine 3 home page. wiki and nvidia i'm not bothered about but the fact the've pulled it from the cryengine 3 site means there must be bad news out there. well considering they sell this engine so to pull DX11 from the advertising is a pretty big deal
