***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Finished the SP game, wish i hadn't wasted the money. Should have waited for a sale.

  • Very simplistic gameplay,
  • no boss finale,
  • rushed build (saw a few areas where they just hadn't finished the scenery and you look at the backdrop!),
  • invisible walls (wtf? why am i not allowed into this area, if i'm not allowed to go over here, why does it look like i can?),
  • running through street, building, street, sewer, tunnel, street, building, etc is dull,
  • what was wrong with the jungle, better cover, better colouring, better tactics, better imagery, the list goes on.
  • why doesn't the main character speak? (one of the fun parts of the first two was the interaction between the characters, it built a really story, this felt "cold")
  • too "cuddly", none of the good guys die.

After the awesomeness of the first 2 games, this just felt pap.

It's not like he has an amazing system. I guess some people will drop the res and quality to ensure that frames do not drop below 60FPS. I'm one of those people. How you can say the game feels smooth at 30FPS is beyond me.

well the xbox 360 version is locked at 30FPS I believe and doesn't appear to suffer from any 'holy hell this is unplayable' frame-rate issues, does that answer the question?
 
C'Mon people 30fps is the lowest playable Frame rate a game is playable in, thats what im saying

If I was happy at 30fps i would NOT of got the 2nd 480 as mafia 2 was arounf 40fps and a low of 25 to 30 so wanted more power . i blame the physx for the fps lows not the gameplay in mafia 2 etc

When i tested c2 with one 480 i found it very stuttery even with 45 to 50 fps till i set physx to the other 480 that was still in slot two but sli disabled then it was a lot smoother at the same frame rates

I am tell the difference between 40fps and 60+. I cannot play at 40fps for some reason, but it may be just me mate

Wolvers, what rez are you playing at mate? Im on 2560x1440, but yeah I do think I'm still having issues... I dont think it's with the system though because at that same resolution I'm getting really high fps in other games - are you using custom crossfire profiles etc?
 
Just finished, thought it was alright, decent playtime and fairly interesting gameplay, I quite liked to improvements made to the suit interface, makes it more active and makes gameplay a lot quicker, however I think the visor fuction telling you exactly where to go for stealth/weapons/ammo etc was a bit retarded, made it too easy, also I found the game quite a lot more linear than the first, by which I mean the areas you traverse are a lot more linear, you get a few choices but they are hardly very different and for the most part don't take you very far from any other path.

That's my final point, I played on the hardest setting and yes I died a lot but I can't say I found the game HARD, it was more due to enemies seeming to magically appear behind me and pin me to walls or the suit running out of power because you can't sprint without it.

Over all, I think I prefer the first one, the silent protagonist was really bloody annoying as well.

For reference, game ran fine at 1920*1200 on my 5870 on Hardcore settings, I have no idea what "Hardcore" means but using that makes me feel cool.



Oh one last point, why was there no final boss? Crysis 1 - THE MOTHERSHIP, Crysis Warhead - GIANT ENEMY CRAB, Crysis 2 - A couple of stealth aliens that are a tiny bit tougher than normal aliens, oh if only I had a microwave gun that stunlocks them and a visor that allows me to see heat signatures...god knows how I managed *sigh*

HEHE i just finished it and bashed the last 4 or 5 alians with the but of my gun and killed em lol tooooo easy

Getting through the level itself was harder

STILL LOVED THE GAME THOUGH
 
multiplayer is totally ruined every server i have joined is full of hackers, its people using the retail non steam version with hacks.

this game really needs a good anticheat otherwise multiplayer is ruined, shame really could have been an awesome game
