I was always a big fan of the original Crystal Maze. The idea of it returning was great news to me...

But then I heard Richard Ayoade mentioned and immediately gave not a single toss. I'd rather watch reruns of The Interceptor... hell, I'd rather be in The Interceptor!!

yup, he just gives me the diarrhoea!

shame as I loved the show, even the episodes where the contestants were so totally inept you ended up yelling at the tv!!

Loved the one off Stephen Merchant one, as much as i like Richard Ayoade i wish Stephen Merchant would have carried on, he was fantastic.

Not sure about the new choice of host - I don't know if he's charismatic enough to carry that role. In any case I don't think anyone will measure up to O'Brien.

Yep. Richard O'brien, watching those clips, never really feels like a "celebrity" or a "presenter". More someone who has suddenly found a bunch of children dumped in his house for an hour and is playing with them whilst silently contemplating the failure of parenting that produced them.

Brilliant way to put it, he used to hint that he lived in the maze with Mumsy and yeah he was playing a character a bit like an RPG and he was the games master.

Ended up playing a game whilst I watched bits of it. It's just not exciting with celebs imo...especially this lot.

I quite liked it apart from the celebs showboating the presenter was quite witty at times, it seemed like there was too much trash talk and not enough game time though.. they only had two games in the first zone and that guy leaving with 1min 20sec left because he knew one more mistake would be a lock in was annoying.

Virgin Media has it on thier TiVo catch-up and it's in 240p lol. Can't bear to watch anything less than 1080i.

Wasn't too bad, quite like the presenter. However the "celebrities" were awful(other than Brooker).

Think it has promise but only once they start having regular punters taking part not that z list bunch - way too much prancing about and not enough time spent in puzzles!
