Cyber-Mav said:i got a second pc and was considering getting another 6800nu for that machine to replace its gf4 ti4200 so more network games are playable. but insted of paying 105 quid for a 6800nu i may just go for the 7800gs and use my existing 6800nu in the other pc. would work out more economical for me then.
quiestion is where can i see reviews of a 7800gs agp? need to see benchies on how it performs to other cards.
ajgoodfellow said:You can get a PCI-E motherboard for your Socket 754 system for only £50 or so so I'd still consider PCI-E
Tute said:Gibbo, any date for the new 7800GS yet? I heard February 2nd, can you confirm or deny this?
Also, can the 7800GS go 16pipe ---> 20pipe? Or would we have to wait for launch before anybody will be able to tell?
Thanks in advance.
steveo said:any word on when the 7800 gs will be on ocuk for pre orders, i have a 6800u at the mo and its showing its age![]()
HangTime said:A 6800u is right at the high end of AGP parts and you won't get much faster than that - it's just not worth the expense of upgrading, you'd be better off moving to a PCI-E platform. Basically I'd say that pretty much any 16pipe card isn't worth replacing on the AGP platform, as the performance gains are minimal considering the cost of a new card is over £200.
LoadsaMoney said:Will be a cracking performance boost from the 9800pro, i went from a 9800pro to an x800pro before, and was blown away by the performance boost, as said the 7800 GS is inbetween the 6800 GS, and the 7800 GT.![]()
