Yea must do, tho since i re-seated the cpu cooler and start getting bizarre temps i pulled the oc down a bit. have to look at playing with the volts and try and get the bugger closer to 4ghz....really must spend some dough tho and get a better cpu cooler, keep threatening too but something always comes up.....usually beer!
currently lookng at either the venomous X, or possibly the Antec Kuhler 620....leaning towards the venomous x, as i think the black version will look sweet with the akasa vipers that i currently got on the hyper212

The venomous x will be very good, basically the newest version of the ultra, which i had the black one off, certainly does look the part. I replaced it with a prolimatech super mega, looking back now theres times i think, was it really worth doing so as the cooling is identical.

Yep, great thread. It's really the sort of thing this forum should be doing more often.
Friendly competition, no fanboy rubbish, just peeps that want to improve on what they've done already. The only way any of us get any better at anything is to push harder, competition just gives us that extra nudge.

At some point thiis weekend, for sure matey. Any pointers?Another good thing with this thread is that we're all learning something too. I've been messing around with OC'ing, water cooling and other daft stuff for well over 10 years and I'm still learning. With so much new kit launched so frequently, I don't think anyone can honestly say they know it all

2nd effort, with a little higher oc. well chuffed as my oc'ing skills are very VERY basic!!
as others have said, excellent thread, has made me get my finger out and learn a little bit more.....now time for me to get that venomous x and see just how high i can push my i5 750.....
also any of you well informed fellas out there point me in the direction of a good guide(esp for my cpu if possible) that explains oc'ing detail, as in what each of the changes etc do. i've a vague of what to do and how to go about it, but would like to know what the changes i make actually do......
anywhoooo an extra 85 points for me

A hard one to call Andy. At the end of the day, we are running pretty much the same clock with the same cpu. I suspect that you may just be in "benching" mode at this clock ?
I'm not, 5ghz is my every day stable 24/7 clock...................that may be a difference. Also, when i ran the bench..................i ran with my gfx fully clocked as well....................maybe that made a difference ?
one final attempt until i get a better cpu cooler, albeit a slight cheat, i used the gigabyte easytune facility to get the 3.8oc 
wouldn't fancy running that for any length of time without a better cooling solution and most certainly wouldn't want to be running P95!!
