The Day of the Jackal

So we're going to get ten episodes on Sky in November:

“The new series is a bold, contemporary reimagining of the beloved and respected novel and film. While remaining true to the DNA of the original IP, this contemporary drama will delve deeper into the chameleon-like ‘anti-hero’ at the heart of the story, in a high-octane, cinematic, globetrotting 'cat and mouse' thriller, set amidst the turbulent geo-political landscape of our time.”

Methinks the original film and Fredrick Forsythe book will be unrecognisable by the end of this... I hope I'm wrong.

The writers for this need to deliver a gripping and engaging plot for this to be a success, hopefully the bigwigs for this show are giving this priority.

Bold contemporary reimaginig, words to send chills of fear down the spine when applied to any classic work.
It's not "reimagined for a modern audience" level of anticipation of disaster though.

I actually like the look of this, nice music choice for the trailer as well.

'Ep 1, feels like watching James bond cinematics and music score combined with bits of Line of Duty and others. Excellent.
