The Day of the Jackal

I really like Lasana Lynch and helped carry the story and was worthy of rivalling the Jackal, probably because from her bond days. I wouldnt mind her playing a 00 agent not as James Bond but as her own character movie. This TV series showed glimpses of that.

I really did think she would follow the trail and pursuit of the Jackal into Season 2 so i hope they have someone worthy of doing that. Bianca imo gave you belief she could do that.

Really?

I thought she was absolutely awful. Terrible actress, horribly written part and massively miscast, which made it even more glaring.

I'm so glad they killed her character off. Couldn't stand her.

Finale was ok. The car crash at the end not being explained and brushed under the carpet was hilariously lazy/silly though.

you literally nailed what i thought. i enjoyed the series overall but she was terrible acting wise and some of the plot holes were comedy gold.

Yeh. It COULD have been really good. The bits with Bianca and the British intelligence were a bit rubbish though. The bits with Redmayne and his wife etc were very good.

Felt like a series written and directed by two different teams at times.

Quite a good but surprising season finale.

I am surprised Osita helped hide the fact, didnt help and deleted the evidence. Playing the game. POS as well.

Come now, its pretty obvious why he did that and its not for the reasons you are suggesting.

She is a good actress but my I wasn't sure whether we were supposed to root for her and sympathise with her or really dislike her because I found myself in the latter camp for almost the entire series. Manipulative and self serving in every aspect of her life, personal as well.

Lying to everyone.

Generally enjoyed this overall though. Obviously it got silly at points and there were plenty of things that wouldn't happen but I hate to break it to some of you but they do this so that its not dull and the pacing keeps up. Its more important to keep things moving and flowing than it is to do everything 100% accurately.

Probably should have been left as a single series though as I think series 2 will be increasingly silly.

Just finished this, I hated the side story with Bianca's family etc. found it incredibly boring and a terrible filler.

Wish they kept it more about agents trying to track him etc.

It was an unnecessary distraction and honestly I think it took away from her character as it just confused things.

Were we supposed to feel sympathy for her struggle to balance family and work life? Was it supposed to make us understand that she wasn't just as amoral as the people she dealt with in her professional life as she took her family for granted and lied and manipulated them.

In the final episode I think it was, we see her trying to get her husband back by saying that she'd chosen them over her job when it was, to butcher a phrase, a marriage of convenience for her. She'd left her job....because of her job, nothing to do with family and then tries to paint it as her choosing family. Then immediately off she pops to go and get killed on the job.

Perhaps I read things differently to others but she wasn't very likeable and the family part of it didn't help that and didn't necessarily add to the story.

I think I probably expected a bit too much from a modern piece of TV to produce something that would do the original justice. I feel I gave this enough of a chance but yeah, I couldn't exactly figure out what angle they were trying to play her from.

Mixed feelings at the end, glad they ended her though.
