I'd be worried if the 390 wasn't winning.

They might be around the same price but the 390 is a newer and technically more capable card.
 
You got to go on price point really that is why it is 970 v 390 and not the 980, 290 is close to the 390 and the 290 isn't on sale now.
 
Interesting, just like The Division, performance is smoother and substantially better on the 390 compared to the the 970. I wonder how the 980 would have compared with a 390 instead of the 970.
 
Would be nice for DF to make video of 290 vs 390. Just to see how much that 8GB memory actually helps for stuttering.

I'd be interested to see the 290 pro & X go head to head with there 300 series siblings too. On the newest drivers with stock clocks, matching clocks and best overclocks across a big range of games if possible.

If its The Division your refering to then i think its a good looker. Its not plastered with post processing effects aka Farcry syndrome everywhere that gets in your face. The lighting is pretty darn good and my god the map detail is fantastic. A tiny slight negative for me would be character models, but its only slight i feel and most likely due to the very limited character customizing in the beta.

Now if only i could have a bit more performance on my 980ti as of right now im not impressed in this department :P come on nvidia, throw some of your cash around like you normally do and get us that 30% performance boost.
 
Once the final version of the game is out, I doubt the difference will be as big.

Personally I don't think it looks anything special compared to the likes of the division, battlefront and rise of the tomb raider and certainly not worthy of that performance hit....

From the Beta, I wasn't blown away by the visuals but they are not bad. The opening scene is decent and hopefully we will see more of that in the final game but the single level Beta sadly didn't look as good as some of the recent titles you mention.
