I like seeing scantily clad women.

However in this case I seriously don't see how it benefits or provides anything to the advert.

Same as the banner. The dark haired woman in the cream with black trim bra has a seriously nice pair of ****, but I am not getting why it needs to be on the add.

Now if she had an OCUK logo thong and matching bra I could buy that as there is some sort of connection between the women and the products (all be it a very very tenuous one). But just having a few women with nice racks and buns....... not sure I get the direction

I jest... I didn't know what ITT was and Urban dictionary made a reference to power rangers which slightly amused me for all of 2 seconds whilst I wrote this post... Actually it's all gone now :(
 
Whatever happens, it will be interesting to see how the moderation team deal with infringements in future without looking like hypocrites. Its all well and good having a disclaimer that things will go back to how they were, but I do think thats closing the barn doors after the horses have bolted, Im probably wrong but thats my personal thoughts on this...

I think my concerns revolve more around how the mod team have always come down on people regards rule breaks (correctly in my view, if not tenaciously) yet apparently given themselves public sanctions when suits (the cleavage thread is not a poor example). I also think its quite condescending to have an April Fools joke based on the mythical porn forums yet ensure only the moderation team are allowed to be in on the joke - I guess they dont think much of the people they moderate or feel that the tone is already set regards to containing fun within the rules.

As someone said earlier is a set of events completely unrelated, but it has given out mixed signals on whats allowed and whats not and if that changes dependent on your status. I do feel for the few female posters we have on here...

Im not at all bothered about the boobs, when it comes to making money its very hard to stay on your high horse, so I wouldnt bother in the first place. Morals are expensive in business and its unlikely that boobs will deter people from coming to the booth...

Finally, its nice that people feel they can voice their (differing) opinions without feeling gagged, but I am amazed how much flak people have been getting from fellow posters...

There's three points I'd pick up here 1) you seem not to have noticed the disclaimer at the start of the cleavage thread to the effect that it was a departure from the norm to allow such a thread - admittedly lots of people probably didn't look at the words there but it was spelled out, 2) there is not and never has been a guarantee that the rules here will stay unchanging ad infinitum so picking up on a previous decision doesn't mean that every decision from then on will be the same and 3) context matters - you're (presumably) complaining about either the Random Image Thread or the Random Gifs thread, 20 consecutive posts along a similar theme (be that women, cars, aircraft, ponies or whatever) doesn't constitute random hence it may be removed.
 
Also not forgetting that having pictures of scantily clad women could also possibly alienate any female gamers/hardware enthusiasts. I hate it, tacky.

PS: In this thread, Virgins indeed. People who are super happy over random pics of women :) Get out and meet real ones.
 
I asked the wife if she was offended or alienated by the pics or the prospect of booth girls.....she just wants to know where Bianca gets her underwear......
 
Would be cool if the girls had some sort of OCUK brand clothing on, or dressed in something tech related. I just don't see how a girl trying to be sexy on a bed/couch has anything to do with selling the related products O_o
 
Personally I'm not in favour of the smut (albeit mild) being everywhere. Keep it to a decent babes thread that you can chose to browse or not. :p

Let me tell you about the ancient tradition of booth babes, it goes all the way back to the mid 1980s when tech shows started appearing, it was a tradition to get some girls in to show off. It was even customary to point out at the end which booth girls you preferred, as it obviously makes the products more desirable when they are surrounded by booth babes.

Personally i think people that moan about booth babes need to go join some parade or women rights group where they can find something to do more constructive. in other words, shut it.

I don't think the vast majority of people here have any issue with boothbabes, maybe one or two? It's an event, and I don't really see the problem, I doubt they will be in just knickers and bra at the show.

The issue is more thinking that a smutty trend might be started, and some people are not keen on that as that's not traditionally how things have been done around here. Not all change is good, but like I said, if 99% of people are in favour of women draping themselves over PC's all the time, then perhaps OcUK should go for it.

If people have an opinion that differs from your's, there is no need to try and force them to shut up.

At the end of the day, some people are giving feedback positive and negative. It's good for discussion, and helps OcUK decide whether something is working. They are allowed to try new things. There is no need for the abuse coming from people though.
