The disappearance of Nicola Bulley

Because they have financial problems and he is hoping she would come back - If he had said she was an alcoholic at the outset in all likelihood she would have lost her job or put on extended leave, especially given the fact she dealt with large amounts of money. Also the shame/pride factor.

Fair point. I thought she worked for herself but if she worked for a company I can understand it.

The diving expert is now saying if the police had told his team she was an alcoholic they would have carried out their search differently.

I don't know what difference this info would make other than she was reportedly a strong swimmer so they didn't feel the need to search further down the river?

Yeah it's odd that they think she drowned but was buoyant enough to drift down the river and potentially into the sea, you would expect a body to have been found by now on a beach somewhere in the North West coast surely

People tend to panic and drown, when if they relaxed they'd still be buoyant enough to float. And/or they drown in conditions which make breathing difficult but the body itself is still buoyant.

That's a well-known trait of suicide victims. If they have a history of depression and get happy all of a sudden, it's generally because they've made a plan.

My mothers friend did something similar. Her son jumped off a block of flats when he was teenager and her husband was an alcoholic bum who chocked to death on a piece of raw meat. One day she just walked into a lake and killed herself but this was years later. She left her daughter behind who was an adult at the time. She was very strong mentally but I guess there is only so much you can take.

Diving expert done an interview now - says if she had poor mental state she might have walked further down the river bank before going in the water, rather than falling in at the spot where the bench is

Getting ridiculous now tbh. We don't need this in the press 24/7 and the police constantly bumbling about saying something dumb, creating speculation then releasing more info about this poor lady that really should be private.

There's absolutely nothing the public can do to help this investigation.

That bloke needs ignoring to be honest. Got his mug on the tele more than Nicola has!!

imagine the cops didn’t tell you Jack all mate cos they knew it would be on Sky News before you could say ‘where’s she gone?’

I find the whole thing weird how much coverage and so on it has been getting. These things happen from time to time and unless it is a child or someone notable, etc. barely even makes the news.

So I've had a look at pictures of the scene, timeline, distance from the sea etc.

My thoughts are no way she accidentally fell in the river and drowned, no way her body would be washed far downstream. In the last pictures loading the car she looks in a state to me.

I think she's run off, so there you have it. She may have killed herself elsewhere but I don't think so.
When the police say she must have fallen in the river, they have no evidence at all for that. Its just a best guess.
The only hard evidence they have is the email, the text and then logging on to the teams call, all at around 9 am.
It appears that she logged on teams at the bench, left the phone, dog and harness at the bench and wandered off eastwards. The final witness seems a bit unsure so probably did see her but not the dog.

60+ bodies were recovered from Manchester canals over a 7 year period.

i dont even think it was known outside of the local area.

Did they say why the police visited their household?

Did she or her husband get violent or something/have a violent sounding argument that alerted neighbours? Was she at risk suicide wise (do police attend for that?)

Can't think of why else they would have attended.

Remember that canoe guy from years ago?

Wonder if this is the grift here, GoFundMe, get hundreds of thousands then hubby disappears too and meets up again with her somewhere

The GoFundMe crossed my mind earlier on, not for how you say above but similar.

I think she was abducted, the circumstances are very strange. I expect if she drowned herself they would've found something by now, an item of clothing if not the actual body. Would she have just left her dog loose and phone connected to a call to go jump in a river? People self harm all the time and attempt suicide, I've been told that by someone close who worked at a Mental Health Hospital, but they are conscious of what's happening and I doubt she'd leave her dog like that.

If everyone couldn't bear to leave a dog or a loved one behind, then nobody would ever commit suicide. But they do.

Police usually attend on mental health crisis calls to 999 in case the person needs restraining or sectioning. I can only guess she was threatening to harm herself or the. Children
