The disappearance of Nicola Bulley

Quite common for people to appear more positive than normal before a planned suicide. Colleague at work committed suicide in late summer '20, after we were told the tragic news, I recalled during my last chat with him a few days earlier he was more upbeat than his normal "Jack Dee" self.

That's a well-known trait of suicide victims. If they have a history of depression and get happy all of a sudden, it's generally because they've made a plan.

I think she was abducted, the circumstances are very strange. I expect if she drowned herself they would've found something by now, an item of clothing if not the actual body. Would she have just left her dog loose and phone connected to a call to go jump in a river? People self harm all the time and attempt suicide, I've been told that by someone close who worked at a Mental Health Hospital, but they are conscious of what's happening and I doubt she'd leave her dog like that.

They claimed that no other person was involved in this 'missing person' case, when that was clearly said without checking anything.

They said there was no evidence nor indication that a third-party was involved. That is still the case weeks later. As opposed to the endless speculation which has so far amounted to absolutely nothing, unsurprisingly.

They claimed all the paths in and out were covered by cctv cameras when that wasn't true.. and its only recently they have even requested cctv footage, only to find some of the cameras weren't working.

Source please, I've seen nothing suggesting they said all cameras were working. They said they'd checked all available CCTV of entrances/exits and were then appealing for witnesses/dashcam footage to establish if she had left by another route.

Why are the Police spending so much time refuting theories put out via the chattering hordes on social media.

All so childish - just ignore it.

New police statement - she was an alcoholic and going through menpause also police called to the home in January - just reported on LBC

Hang ooonnnnnnn, are you saying that the perfect social media lifestyle she portrayed wasn't entirely accurate? Noooooooooooo.

Because thats a massive part of policing nowadays. PR. Because the media are so obsessed with this case the police are under the microscope.

There are also seemingly a lot of "have a go police" knocking around who are trying to investigate this themselves for some reason.

They said the first line, and are still keeping to that line, because they said she or anyone else hadnt been seen on cctv. When they made that statement we know they hadnt checked the cameras.

There is nothing to suggest shes fallen in the river either. Because of the extensive investigating they have done on the river that hasn't turned up anything, I'd say its now more likely that either she, or she and someone else, have walked out of the area and not been picked up on a camera.

Why can't the police stick to what they say? At the press conference earlier they said they weren't going to go in to specifics. But said she was considered a vulnerable person. Now they have gone in to specifics.

I wonder if a missing 45 year old alcoholic would have generated so much media interest, if of course this fact was known from the outset.
Sadly I suspect if the info was released at the outset that she was an alcoholic no one would have bothered looking for her
Probably dropped kids off at school, swigged a bottle of vodka on that bench and fell in cold water
