The disappearance of Nicola Bulley

I really hope, that some great big greasy fat-cat lawyer with no mercy, acts on behalf of Paul Ansell, and drags all of the libellous tossers on social media straight to the cleaners, I really do.

Watching the things people have said about him, it’s awful - it’s like what the tabloid newspapers did to Christopher Jeffries.

It must be like having to deal with 2x hells at once: losing your partner, whilst the internet accuses you of killing her.

It’s been horrid to watch.

Personally I'd wait for the autopsy results before taking sides.

Also having seen a video of the bench and the ground around it, I can very much believe that someone very easy could have fallen down it, all it would take is one missed step/minor error to put you off balanced and you'd potentially be in the water before you got the chance to recover.

The bank is similar to the one I used to scramble up and down as a kid to get into our local brook, and we stumbled/slipped uncountable times, but we were actively trying to climb down so were prepared for it, and the water was only a few inches deep as we never went near the edge when it was high.

I can see why the bench is where it is from an aesthetic point of view, but at the same time it's not a great spot from the point of view of someone who may be unsteady getting up out of it.

Just falling into a river doesn't kill an adult unless they're incredibly unlucky to have also gone against human nature to save oneself with your hands to break your fall and instead knock yourself unconscious. Not to mention she got so far into the river for her to disappear without trace for quite some time rather than being caught up on shallower edges.

Unless you've drunk enough to sink a Ruskie cruiser?

how ****** disrespectful to a number of people doing their job.
There's a reason you and none of us are cops or detectives. To then guess how they are doing their job is pathetic.
Grow up.

We don't live in a police state yet so it is entirely right when the public are not convinced things were being done properly to call it out.

Can we change the title to include "Unconfirmed Body Found" so we don't have to re-live the discovery every 20 posts

Falling into deep cold water in January, is absolutely lethal, if you panic, or try to struggle, you’re dead.

Even worse if you’re wearing thick heavy clothing.

I'll tell you what, jump into a river when it's 3-4 degrees and see how your body responds to cold shock in order to prove your theory.

I shall type this out in case it helps anyone or saves a life.

When falling into cold water, the body goes into a state of shock, and its hard to breathe or do anything. Any expert in the cold countries, will tell you that you MUST remain calm for ~60 seconds before doing anything, and allowing your breathing to come under control, think rationally, and make an exit plan.

I fortunately have not yet had to implement this advice, but should I fall into freezing water, I will heed every piece of it. Where folks get caught out is they immediately panic, and that combined with the shock and the inability to breathe properly, unfortunately ends in disaster, especially with wet, heavy, easily waterlogged winter clothing.

It still doesn't explain how she got from the edge of the bank to far enough into the river for it to carry her along. I'm just not buying at this stage that she just fell in. We'll see what the PM says.
