The disappearance of Nicola Bulley

Photo of her from the day she went missing has been released, coat she was wearing was just above knee height and looks fairly insulated, also according to "experts" they have ruled out the possibility of her ending up in the river.

I think at this point they are just flinging s*** and hoping for something to stick.
I was surprised by that photo because everything I had read up until then said that the coat was ankle length

Umm, she was attacked and killed by someone with a knife, died on scene where she was found shortly after.

It’s completely different because there was a body in plain sight.
It was in reference to your statement about there being too many people around and in broad daylight. That was also the case for Rachel Nickell. Also there was no river nearby like in this case, so you're right, completely different as in this case a river is a very convenient place to dispose of a body pretty quickly.

Is the footpath just one way in a one out? Just reading an article now and it doesn't make much sense.

1st it says at 8.43 Nicole was last seen walking her dog east on the path

8.46 she arrived at the bench where phone a dog leads were found

but then it gets weird

8.50 Nicole was spotted by another dog walker, this was east of the bench

9.10 Nicole was spotted with her dog by a person she knows, this was further east of bench again

So why does it say last seen at 8.43 when it then says she was seen at 8.50 & 9.10

Edit below for this....Also a dog walker found her phone on bench at 9.35, why didn't the witness that saw her at 8.50 see the phone/leads, surely they past the bench. Though is the path/area wide enough for people to miss it?

Edit below for this...Plus the 9.10 seeing east of the bench so Nicole was walking away from bench with phone etc. so why would she be doing this.

Makes no sense at all.

Edit.. reading another article it seems the phone was just on the bench from 9.20 so at 9.10 she still had it, so she walked back to bench area.

Not sure anyone could have taken her in the 10 minute window or so, unless there was a couple of them and took her east, seems to be a road at top where river bends left and goes up. One as a lookout to tell other if anyone is coming

I don't think she's in the river her body would have appeared by now , someone would have heard her .

There was an old lady up here that fell in a river trying to rescue her dog in the flooding before Christmas I think it was. They never found her body as far as I’m aware.

Just had a stalk around her Facebook, really sad. She looked so happy and full of life, loads of photos of days out with her kids, just like anyone really. Heartbreaking.

It's quite a sad story truth be told.

The dog was dry so she wasn't trying to rescue it from the water. There was no ball so nothing to retrieve from the water. So unless she got up from the bench to stretch her legs (leaving the phone on the bench) and fell in the water as the bench is really close to the water's edge, then I doubt she's in the water unless someone else put her in it.

The dog was found between the bench and the gate untethered. I'm sure any dog would go after their owner so that's a strange one, unless the dog couldn't follow because she went through the gate, by her own volition or otherwise.

Looking at the scene and the bench, one could easily be taken by surprise from behind when sitting there. The dog would pose little to no thread as well. If this woman had the same routine everyday then she could have been stalked for days or weeks. With her being distracted by the Teams call the stalker or stalkers wouldn't get a better opportunity. I wonder how she was listening to the Teams call, was it via loudspeaker or with earbuds - if the latter then where are they? They would surely fall out during a struggle or falling in the water.

The police are no doubt searching the surrounding land and checking cctv for evidence of any continuous stalking. Or at least you'd hope so.

The simplest explanation is always too obvious. An event with her dog caused her concern to race forward from the bench no doubt resulting in her fall into water.
The ideas of the noble loyal dog jumping in as well are not that right. The dog would be distressed watching its owner in panic and then drown.
Be it another dog, a fox, an otter, who knows what. Something placed her close to the river and she went in. Current and cold and heavy clothing. Disaster. Sadly.
The idea someone intervened or abducted her would have to be alien. The timeline and the CCTV in the area. As well as it being a regular route for many. Would mean she would literally have to have been beamed up.
Sadly could take weeks for the body to be found. Is a horrible accident.

Not necessarily, on both counts.

Drowning can be far less dramatic than it's usually depicted as being. People have drowned quietly within sight of others and nobody noticed. Probably more likely in open water in winter because entering cold water can be stunning. So it's not necessarily true that someone would have heard her if she was drowning.

Rivers can carry bodies all over the place, including out to sea where they're never found. It's often extremely hard to find anything in water anyway (visibility can be nothing at all) but all the more so when you don't even know where you should be looking. And a body taken out to sea is a complete non-starter in terms of finding it. That happens when the body is washed up somewhere, if it ever is.

I think there isn't enough evidence publicly available to make any conclusion. I also think that when the police say "working hypothesis" they don't mean "we've ruled out everything else and won't even think about any other explanation". Because that's not what "working hypothesis" means. As well as that, there are good reasons for the police to keep quiet about an active fresh investigation. It's often not a good idea to tip off a suspect that you're currently covertly investigating.

For sure. And as sick as it is, I suggest folk Google videos of people drowning as it is VERY distinctive. And very dangerous to attempt to jump in and do a personal rescue as the person drowning will likely drown the rescuer.
