This case does have some of the John Darwin traits to it, person goes missing, belongings found but no sign of the owner
I was surprised by that photo because everything I had read up until then said that the coat was ankle lengthPhoto of her from the day she went missing has been released, coat she was wearing was just above knee height and looks fairly insulated, also according to "experts" they have ruled out the possibility of her ending up in the river.
I think at this point they are just flinging s*** and hoping for something to stick.
Unless that coat was in the car? Tbh a lot of the details are quite contradictory.I was surprised by that photo because everything I had read up until then said that the coat was ankle length
It was in reference to your statement about there being too many people around and in broad daylight. That was also the case for Rachel Nickell. Also there was no river nearby like in this case, so you're right, completely different as in this case a river is a very convenient place to dispose of a body pretty quickly.Umm, she was attacked and killed by someone with a knife, died on scene where she was found shortly after.
It’s completely different because there was a body in plain sight.
There was an old lady up here that fell in a river trying to rescue her dog in the flooding before Christmas I think it was. They never found her body as far as I’m aware.I don't think she's in the river her body would have appeared by now , someone would have heard her .

When I listened to the husband on the radio on day 4 i think it was, he seemed relaxed in how he came across. This is so terrible and strange. Either she is in the river or her fella is involved.
He seems shifty:When I listened to the husband on the radio on day 4 i think it was, he seemed relaxed in how he came across.
For sure. And as sick as it is, I suggest folk Google videos of people drowning as it is VERY distinctive. And very dangerous to attempt to jump in and do a personal rescue as the person drowning will likely drown the rescuer. Not necessarily, on both counts.
Drowning can be far less dramatic than it's usually depicted as being. People have drowned quietly within sight of others and nobody noticed. Probably more likely in open water in winter because entering cold water can be stunning. So it's not necessarily true that someone would have heard her if she was drowning.
Rivers can carry bodies all over the place, including out to sea where they're never found. It's often extremely hard to find anything in water anyway (visibility can be nothing at all) but all the more so when you don't even know where you should be looking. And a body taken out to sea is a complete non-starter in terms of finding it. That happens when the body is washed up somewhere, if it ever is.
I think there isn't enough evidence publicly available to make any conclusion. I also think that when the police say "working hypothesis" they don't mean "we've ruled out everything else and won't even think about any other explanation". Because that's not what "working hypothesis" means. As well as that, there are good reasons for the police to keep quiet about an active fresh investigation. It's often not a good idea to tip off a suspect that you're currently covertly investigating.
