The Division 2 - March 2019

Possibly because I'm early but getting a patch required message and then the game crashes error at the moment.

EDIT: Looks like it is just because the servers are a bit busy worked on subsequent try.

I recall them saying that there would be a small patch that needs to be installed after the pre-load.

I'd already installed that - I think I either got in too early while the backend was still coming up or lots of people trying to get in at the same time.

So far not hating the movement - though not had time to fully explore it - it has a heavier feel but not in a clunky way so far and is still responsive without the silly rate throttling that would end up getting its knickers in a twist that they introduced around 1.7 in TD1.

So I ordered on uplay about a month ago but I haven't had any email about friends invites or the beta itself, but I do have the beta client pre-loaded. When I go to the beta site it seems to think that I haven't ordered and even though I'm signed in it says I should pre-order to gain beta access and I have no friends invites to give away.

I sent an invite to you last night Tess, login here;

They are using EasyAntiCheat BTW - (not a huge fan of it myself as it seems to become more invasive with each update) IIRC if you are banned in one game you might be banned in others that use the same anti-cheat.

Just had a Delta-03 - was in Downtown East near a large hotel.

Liking it so far - different enough to feel new yet familiar enough to pick it straight up and get into it.

Gunplay feels more smooth (maybe it's because enemies have a shorter TTK), looks and sounds good - I like the rain effects.

I'm going to miss the winter jackets though :)

Ok, I'm back in...

Cheers

Not really feeling it in a lot of ways - while more polished some of the systems don't feel like an improvement over the same system in TD1 - not necessarily a bad implementation but I dunno just don't see the need to change them for the sake of it from TD1 just maybe tweak the one from TD1 a little. Gameplay feels too much like I'm just repeating the first bit of TD1 in a generally less atmospheric setting. Mixed feelings on the combat in many ways feels tighter but also guns seem to jerk around a bit randomly - in TD1 it felt like you had better ability to feel how the instability was playing out as it happened and follow through more.

Graphically so far mostly looks better than the earlier footage so that is atleast something though still a bit mixed in how it compared to TD1 - I'm guessing this time they've tried to stay away from accusations of a graphical downgrade LOL.

I do actually like the slightly heavier tactical feel to the movement - there is a bit more of a tactile feel for it but after playing a bit more I've got it struggling to respond at times especially when trying to quickly slowdown for precise movement around loot, etc. while it would be a little unintuitive at first it would be much better to go back to the degree of freedom TD1 movement had before ~1.7 and introduce some kind of stamina feature specific to PVP combat.

Two crashes so far and second mission bugged out where we cant g through a door needed to progress, not sure if i can arsed to try this same mission for a 4th time, its only the second mission in lol.

Just played the first real mission and so far enjoying it, not played TD1 for ages so still need to get back into the feel of the game

fairly smooth gameplay too, no crashes and not noticed bugs yet

On the known bug page they've got 2 crashes listed. One from extended playtime so they recommend restarting the game every 2-3 hours and another related to a game invite whilst not in the game already.
