The Division. Are we interested?

I don't buy it. Make the guns futuristic, make them something other than they are. It's just an odd dichotomy otherwise. I fail to see the point in having an ultra realistic ballistics model, whilst not having a realistic damage model. Seriously: whats the point?

There are so many tricks they could have come up with to make the bullet sponging a bit more believable, but they haven't.

Tip : max your firearms skill. No more bullet sponges :D

Played a bit of this last night, about 40 mins - actually really enjoyed it I have to say!
The UI is horrendously cluttered and it runs at 30fps on my system but it looks great and the gameplay was actually very enjoyable! My current gripe is that the enemies are massive bullet sponges but it doesn't ruin the game.

I'm kinda disappointed with the Graphics :( When you look at games like assassin's creed syndicate on ultra settings and the new Tomb Raider you scream omg that so good , the reflection in the water on assassin's creed syndicate are just amazing , if they can do it I'm not sure why they can't for this game ? Kinda sucks because it could look so so much better , I still think ill buy it and give it ago but I wish they would have done what was shown at the E3 event.

Oh I'm sure, and I'm not meaning to come across as negative as perhaps TotalBiscuit did, it's not a deal breaker for me.

I just find it odd that they strived for realism on one hand, but not the other.

Personally I think assassins creed syndicate is very meh looking, the draw distance is terrible so unless you are practically standing beside buildings etc., nothing is "stunning". I get why it is so low though as the FPS would be in single digits :p

For me, the best games for overall graphics are:

- star wars battlefront (the game to beat imo)
- batman arkham knight
- new tomb raider game
- GTA 5

This looks really good too, although some textures are poor but it's a beta so I wouldn't be surprised if the graphics are a bit better/more consistent in the final release.

Have you got everything on ultra?

Well, Tomb Raider can do it because it's a pretty narrow on-rails environment, as opposed to the open world of TD which puts a whole lot of extra load on the engine. Notice the little things like gunfire and flares going off in the Dark Zone before you even enter it.

Haven't played Syndicate on PC but looks pretty similar in quality to TD on PS4 to me?

This is going to be the big issue. I think Ubi need to flag the whole group red / rogue in order to get to a fair balance imo

I'm pretty sure they do. However the problem in the post you quoted is that each player individually doesn't do enough damage to trigger the rogue status - so they'd have to track total damage done by the group, rather than the individual player.

I've been flagged rogue by friends in my squad shooting others so it does set the whole squad up.

Not ideal when your in the middle of a extraction point to suddenly flag with 10 other players around you.

Yeah same, play with a trigger happy individual who kept shooting people and flagging us all in not ideal situations.

Really going to be a long 5 weeks, stopped playing on Sat/Sun because i didn't want to get super into it and not know what to do. Got some games to tide me over but really missing it.

Thing is your comparing it to single player games, if they put those kind of details in a fast moving multiplayer fps, the framerate would be completely unplayable.

I heard the open beta was just a troll post from a friend of mine earlier, anyone confirm/deny this?

I enjoyed this right up until I tried my favorite weapons, namely shotguns.

Would expect a point blank range shot to down someone or at least make them stumble but no, absolutely no reaction to the shot and not enough damage to make them worthwhile.
Shame.

Depends which shotgun you have, friend in squad had one he could two shot people to down them if needed.

didnt the gold/yellow shotgun have 4000 damage??

surely that will take a large chunk out of anyones damage.

i think for all the people that are talking about un realistic kills such as head shots and stuff its not that sort of game,

personally i liked the marksman rifles plenty of damage with head shots

Don't think you were using the right one, I used the two shot one and with two shots i'd almost down someone. When i bought the yellow shotgun, i could 3 shot someone easily in their face it did so much damage.

I ended up switching to shotguns from sniper rifles with a friend in our four man group as me and him were more of the aggressive type and ran in there while the other two preferred sitting back a bit picking people off. It gave our group a real nice balance and we were wrecking people.
