It's actually not a retarded system I feel, it allows for you accidentally clipping someone during a fire fight and it does a tiny percentage of damage.

Instant rogue would be idiotic, as its been mentioned, plenty of people run in your line of fire, deliberate or otherwise, it can be tricky to stop in time.

Problem is it seems based on your damage vs their defense. I have shot people with 1 bullet by accident and been classed as rouge simply because they walked in front of my line of fire. It needs to be really well balanced and i think it will be extremely hard to pull off sadly.

IMO you should be flagged to the player you damaged (and their group), otherwise it's just open for exploitation. You shouldn't be penalised for returning fire on someone who's shot you first (on purpose or not).

Otherwise, like I said, how do you defend yourself? If you have to wait until they've shot you several times to make sure, then you might as well just give up because you'll be on 50% hp.

Maybe there should be a "I'd like to go rogue/I don't want to go rogue" setting:

Switch it on and the game works as it does currently.

Switch it off and you can't damage non-hostile agents, but if someone attacks you, then you can shoot them back, and you can still damage players marked as rogue.

I've noticed two bugs with the rouge system; couple of times now someone has thrown a grenade at an extraction point and it made me go rouge despite me not firing my gun once.

Also seen a few times now where my timer is in the single digits and I'm running away for it to suddenly increase again when I get shot, doesn't make sense  I wasn't part of a group when this happens either.

It has in the beta i.e the Scar everyone ended up with, but at launch crafting the rare drop blueprints will give you the best gear.

devs themselves have said the best gear will only be attainable through the DZ including the best blueprints and crafting materials. I mean sure you can gear to a good standard without the DZ and probably full yellow (legendary?) items. But they won't be the best you can get by a margin.

Should have checked when the beta closed haha because i was doing another really big bullet impact artwork and had spent three hours making a really good one :( all gone.

your not on 50%, have you even played it or just going on misinformation?

it's easy to spot the players looking to cause issues, its a massive map even in beta, move away from them or go to populated areas with more than 1 squad.

Anyone who goes rogue gets hunted down pretty quick, as it should be.

If someone really wants to kill you and you opt to stand around then it's likely to happen, i just aim my weapon at them and get a team mate to do the same and we drop them quickly then move on.

Yes I have actually.

If someone shoots you once, sure, you're not on 50%.

If someone puts 5-6 rounds into you then you could be quite easily.

The problem is when someone shoots you once, do you immediately return fire, or do you wait and see if they're trying to kill you?

This! You have to react quickly if someone is trying to take you down. So waiting a second to decide if they are just trolling you or are actually trying to kill you can be the difference between surviving or not.

It's happened to me a few times where an entire group will take a shoot each at you causing a decent amount of damage, enough to give them a good head start on taking you down when you end up going rouge. When several bullets are hitting you at once you just think it's someone trying to take you down but end up getting trolled.

The trouble is going to be just how much premium priced DLC you're going to have to pay for that content.

Based on the info Ubisoft have released about the DLC, it doesn't seem like they are opening up much more of the map. The first pack I think opens up some underground areas, but doesn't sound too exciting.

It's doesn't look like they will suddenly be releasing a large section of the map. Perhaps that is being saved for the squeal.

Not played the beta but from the videos I've seen the shooting seems very lack luster to my eyes & before anyone says it I know its an RPG! but even then the shooting just looks a bit meh, it does not even look as good as the shooting in the uncharted games anyone care to share their opinion on that aspect? it's the only thing preventing me buying.

One of the main concerns raised in the TotalBiscuit review I saw. They're striving to be ultra-realistic in weapons, but then the combat is like it is..

They have very good ballistics. However from what i know personally they have never been striving for a ultra realistic damage model. There aim has always been to have it set out in a MMO style way and that they have achieved. Unfortunately a lot of people playing the Beta expected the game to be something different to a mmo. a lot of folk had feelings it was going to be another "DayZ" style game without zombies and it has never aimed to be that just peoples speculation making others think the game was going to be something different.

Same goes for the map size. We had a lot of speculative videos about the map size being X size and how it was going to be huge and yet Ubisoft never confirmed any map size but for some reason again people think because a video speculated about the map size it MUST be that size and are now hating on ubisoft for the map size that they never said they would give.

I was on the fence about pre-ordering this, so ive asked the missus to get me the sleeper agent edition for my birthday (around the time of the release date), so if its rubbish it hasnt cost me anything and I get a new watch! :D

I don't believe it for a second. There are huge amounts of NY missing that are just crying out to be milked by Ubi.

I don't buy it. Make the guns futuristic, make them something other than they are. It's just an odd dichotomy otherwise. I fail to see the point in having an ultra realistic ballistics model, whilst not having a realistic damage model. Seriously: whats the point?

There are so many tricks they could have come up with to make the bullet sponging a bit more believable, but they haven't.
