The Division. Are we interested?

I just wanted your personal opinion.

Never got around to playing Secret as I'm afraid of getting nightmares of it. I still vividly remember my dream of fighting killer rats when I was in my teens after playing Everquest for a couple days. :D

I think The Division will be alright since I've watched enough Walking Dead and played enough survival games for it to not haunt me.

I'll probably only play it for 30 minutes to see if I like the style of game or not.

It's more.
If you watch the videos of people in the dark zone
one group finds a good weapon for instance - starts calling for evac.
Suddenly two other groups show up and a mass war starts - it's brilliantly thought out and is fun to play.
But out of maybe.... 300 groups, I've only found 20ish? groups not to just start running towards mine guns blazing. :3.

I can't wait.
Not only that, but exploring the non DZ content, be it alone or with friends, is going to be brilliant. I'm guessing also, that the other cities/areas will be the DLC in the season pass. So there should be plenty for us to do.

Well They've teased at small little instances? not raids but small groups so we'll see how that goes :D

The game .... by far different to any mmo that's come out in the last 8 years, and is actually by far one of the best I've played in the last 5.
I'd say it may be harder late game if you don't group or have a friend (especially in dark zone) but there's an update coming soon just before beta so.. :)

Hopefully this is a general enough question that you feel you can answer it without breaching the NDA.

One thing I always look for in a multiplayer game is one that you can pick up and play with your friends whether you have 30 minutes or 3 hours worth of time to spare.

Does The Division allow for this convenient style of play? Or do you have to sit down for several hours if you want to achieve anything and keep up with your friends?

Hmm.... It's kinda hard to say.

I mean, in PVE zone, there's always missions you can do, some longer, some shorter. So there's always something you can do in like.. 30mins-a hour.
Of course if your friends play for 3 hours a day, and you like 30 mins a day they'll be ahead but that's just obvious logic :)
 
Thanks for the reply. We will need to sync up our play sessions then. Since the progression is similar to other RPGs. Still, looking forward to release :D
 
So there was a good bit of footage earlier today uploaded from PC version beta.... but as expected Ubi has sourced them all out it seems and ripped them down haha.

If you're implying the guy jack on youtubes video uploaded earlier today is on pc, you're wrong, you can see on the HUD it's Xbox One.

I will confirm the graphics on the pc version are a LOT better than console - atleast from jacks uploaded video :3

It's an mmo..... It's not a shooter.

Look at it this way.

It's like Wow.

Say you're level 5 using a bow to kill a level 20. You could attack for 5 minutes straight and still not kill the mob.
If you was level 20 killing a level 5 mob with a bow you'd more than likely one shot it.

Same applies here, if you're level 5 going up again either an AL or another player level 20 you'll probs die (atleast solo).
If you're level 20 shooting level 5 AL or new people of course you're going to kill them in mere seconds.

Same applies here. Obviously if you don't like this game style, you dislike MMO's. Nothing wrong there but don't bash something where there's thousands upon thousands of people that play this game type.
 
As I said on another forum I frequent. If anyone is looking for a realistic, FPS style action shooter then this isn't it. It's a 3rd person action RPG.

lol no, there was actual PC beta footage that was uploaded and of course taken down by ubi.. it showed comparison of low - ultra settings. I'll find the screenshots.

COULD be a fake of course, but man they went through a lot of trouble if so hahaha. It seems to have been confirmed through a few sites though and we know PC gamer and a couple other places are going to give their opinion on the PC version next week after nda is lifted on such.

That guy was running at 760p with all the post process AA and stuff turned on, so it completely washed and blurred out the image, plus the youtube compression on top wrecking it.

That is absolutely not representative of the PC version.
