The Division. Are we interested?

The same low-res screenshots blurred into oblivion with postFX AA and then smeared with Youtube compression artifacts.

Dumbass (the idiot that posted the video online, not on this thread).

That looks retarded. They guy is magdumping multiple mags from a SCAR into enemies (including headshots) and they're taking ages to go down.

Yeah, that's what I hated about the newer Fallout games (and other so called Action RPGs) and that's what I don't like here as well. Instead of taking what's good about an action game and what's good about a RPG game and properly mix them, they just went on the easy way out.

Deus Ex done it pretty well, although you had same 'ol cr*p there as well - instead of smarter enemies, you find less ammo (no matter they fired 0 or 100 bullets, you still find 2 bullets when you take them down) and their health pool may be higher.

Oh well... maybe Escape from Tarvok will bring something new.

Yeah after seeing more footage of the shooting now, this game is definetly not for me, watching 3 guys put about 30+ mags of assault rifles, sniper rifles and explosives with it only taking some leader thug down to about 1/4 health was ridiculous IMO, I can understand this style for games like diablo, wow etc. but not for a shooter game in a 'realistic' environment.

Also, you will get so many people miles ahead of you in level and taking you out instantly all because of them being higher level than you, that will just be rage inducing.

Oh well, the search for a new MP game continues :(

Regarding the bullet dumps required to kill enemies, wasnt borderlands the same, and we all loved that game. This is no different. It's a levelling game, it's just the same but with a different backdrop. There will be quests, upgrades, loot and progress, I'm looking forward to it regardless of downgrade. I like this kinda game, always have done. But I won't be pre-ordering nor buying without reading some honest opinions on here.

The Dark Zones are tiered so you don't get those kind of mismatches, you can see it in some of the darkzone footage that's been released.

I played borderlands 2 and it was ok, mainly played it for the cool weapons and the unique graphics style :p The damage thing suited that game though as the style of it wasn't really that realistic, I didn't get too far in either but I didn't find the damage system to be too bad tbh (as long as you weren't using a weak ass weapon :p), at least compared to the early footage of this anyway.

How does it work if/when one your friends are much higher level than you?

As in war thunder this is an issue, if you are in a party with one of your friends who is miles ahead of you, we get put in a match with all the high ranks and just go down in <2 seconds whilst they can take a **** ton of hits.

So if this is a arpg like borderlands will it have something similar to golden chest keys? Will these be microtransactions? Very confused

We're just talking about core gameplay mechanics. A loot-and-stat-driven shooter RPG, so pretty similar in the fundamentals to Borderlands. Doesn't mean every design decision made in Borderlands is in The Division :)

It's what keeps me hooked on MMOs. That endless hunt for new shinies, improvements to every piece of gear I'm wearing/using. I'll be chasing the dragon for hours.

I doubt it, I wouldn't compare them really. It was merely a way to describe why it isn't a 1-2 shot kill like an FPS.

No I doubt it, was just describing the shooting mechanics and levelling in zones just like Borderlands.

Gotcha. ;)

I understand that a game like this needs "depth" and that is done by building the character in an arpg way. I don't expect and I wouldn't want to enter the Dark Zone and expect to kill people easily.

I'll just keep my reservations until the the beta to see how this pans out. A lot rests on balance, how coop affects play, ttk, perk/class progression, potential pick ups, weapon creates, enemy health pools, enemy types, mag count, difficulty level etc, all which I know nothing about and is hard to judge from a gameplay video.
