I run 3 sentry and 3 strikers and it works very well. Also ran FL on both my chars today and got a needed 214 backpack to make everything bar my gloves all 214 gear. Need to wait a week now before I can try again for 214 
In summary, does Sentry's kit give you an advantage then? Hoping so
i think its talking about the sentry gun skill rather than the sentry gear items.
e: or you not talking about the bug just the set items?

Well you can always run challenge mode for 2X240 and infinite number of 214GS items.
Not played much in the last couple of days, as the DPS issue I was having, was spoiling it for me. Hopefully it is now sorted, so should be back on about 6pm.
Need to get to DZ75, currently at DZ66 and need another 180k DZ credz for the M1A BP.
What do I need equipped in order to get extra DZ XP, my character shows 0% DZ XP bonus.

Im DZ35, i have a metric tonne of grinding to do in the DZ before i can even think about weapons like the 214 FW M1A. I'm going to be stuck at ~190 for weeks at this rate.
Anything that grants XP bonuses, for example scopes on headshots.
Got loads of them(163), just can't fit them in with this character.

doesnt it have to be specific "DZ XP bonus" attrib, think just "XP bonus" is for outside DZ
Don't think such a thing exists. XP bonuses apply to both (obv at 30 PvE XP is meaningless. For now anyway.)
I couldn't get in position for that quick enough so I opted for the stun sticky to stop them, smart cover on the edge which took out one side quite quick.
But as soon as was about to turn around for the people on the other side, I was down.
Heading on soon, up for whatever.
Devs have said that the 1.2 patch watchword is "generous". They're going to be much more generous with loot drops, they know how broken it is.
They're aware everyone is p*ssed off getting weapon mods drop as high end loot, not fun. There'll be much more weapons dropped; weapons are fun
