The Division. Are we interested?

This pretty much sums it up:

Infinite Ammo Webm

https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/43jr61/pc_version_will_be_plagued_with_cheaters/

I was burned massively buying GTA/GTA Online (I mainly got it for the MP) with the hacking. It's sat in my steam library ever since mocking me for wasting my money. I really wanted The Division to do well seeing as Massive obviously took a lot of care and attention with the PC version. So much so that I was willing to overlook my initial skepticism and my anti-pre order policy I decided to follow after I wasted money on Watch Dogs.

Allowing the clients to be trusted to handle things like movement speed, ammo counts etc is a rookie mistake and not easily fixed.

If they somehow pull a miracle and fix it all all prior to release, I'll reorder it but for now I've had my steam refund and I'll sit back and watch.

Enjoyed the free roaming scavngers hun in the normal areas. Didn't spend much time in the DZ due to the rank thingy.

If I can get it for £20-£25 after release I will consider it, can't see it being worth more than that at the moment, hopefully the full release will open up a lot more of the map.

I am also finding the AI to be very easy to deal with, but as with any RPG it is due to outgearing them and understanding the tactics.

I read somewhere that there is going to be normal, hard, and challenge mode on the missions. That should make them worth replaying, as there is apparently unique rewards for them.

I think CDkeys is the cheapest, after the 5% FB discount code.

It's usually pretty trivial to change such things actually. All the data is being replicated already it's just a question of flagging them as something the server simulation needs to verify.

See :

Well I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say this is just the beta so they don't care as much, but even GTA hasn't sorted that out still so who knows how it'll go.

Maybe I'll wait and see how it pans out before the pre-order.

I have assigned the special abilities to my thumb buttons so double tap works fine here.

Q for spotting enemies.
E for interact
Ctrl for cover (need a better key for this)
space for jump

Some more screenshots after I added SweetFX. Thanks, TonyTurbo!

MSI Afterburner.

Cheers dude

Fraps only slows down performance if you record with it, like most recording software does.

Cheers

Uplay has build in FPS counter same as steam... I thought it was common knowledge at this point.

Well obviously not ;) the one ive seen in screenies wasn't the steam or uplay one.

rtss + hwinfo
shows everything and you can rename headings. I just use MSI AB to overclock.

Cheers il grab AB now an give it a run :)

I did the medical wing mission in beta on hard mode with two friends and it was a tough fight. It took us two or three attempts before we cracked it. Not that that we're the best players or anything, but it was challenging. Otherwise the normal encounters were a bit to easy.

wow, looks really good on SweetFX!

I really enjoyed the beta, having only really played FPS games since my old Ultima Online days, it was quite an eye opener having to grind the hours and running around to get equipped etc. We have a solid 5-8 players on most of the weekend, we stayed in DZ once we all hit level 8 doing the Health Mission over and over again. By the time Sunday morning had landed, we were all level 12 DZ with purple armour across the board so we were all 3000-3500 DPS and 6000-7500 Health and equipped with a mix of purple/gold guns. Spent most of Sunday just trolling and annoying lots of people using the out of zone to safe house trick once you had rogue level 4 and man hunt status.

I think we were all convinced to pre-order!

We did encounter two guys last night, both individuals on separate occasions. We would be chilling in an alleyway waiting for the rogue status to drop and suddenly one of us, despite having 6k+ health would just seem to die really quick, then another, then another - it was clearly someone glitching/hacking, then he would appear randomly once the last guy died - hope they sort that non-sense out before release. Looked quite similar to some of the stuff he was doing in that video linked above.

Overall, quite enjoyed it ...

defintly buying this loved the beta put 5-6 hours into it got the best weapons etc had loads of fun in the dz with groups but now done with the beta till the full game i can't wait :)
