The Division. Are we interested?

Having watched all of TotalBiscuits video I was starting to get a bit dizzy, so I suspect this engine is going to be a no for me :(.

I'll wait 'til it's hopefully £20ish and give it a go and hope I guess.

Just had a few lol's reading through the first couple of pages of this thread, people (you know who you are) saying they won't touch it cause it UBI etc etc. Then the same people in the last few pages, oh how the times have changed in a year.

Hearing some rumours of an Open Beta in a couple of weeks time. Hopefully they'll add something different. Another mission or more NPC's in the zones. Sometimes you can spend ten minutes looking for something to do or run in a loop hoping that the NPC's will respawn. Was at the extraction point with Squeeze earlier and NPC's spawned right on top of us.

TB hit the nail on the head with the bullet sponging for me, they're going to have to balance that out somehow. Not to the point of reality mod, but with armour or some other mechanic.

I actually found doing the Hospital mission on Hard later on to be more satisfying. We had decent weapons but you really needed to be more tactical and use the cover. They could really hurt you and quickly too. Normal really didn't have the same risk and ultimately it was less satisfying the first time through compared to Hard later with a group. They need to tweak the spawns for group size.

Also you really see the benefit from head shots which is how it should be. Get a grouping of head shots and most things go down quickly. It felt fine to me. Don't forget it's more RPG than FPS Shooter.

Sorry to quote another post but I noticed very little 'head bob' or motion, the camera remains pretty static throughout the game, over your right shoulder.

It's fine in fact most people really like it, it's not supposed to be like an FPS but more of a Borderlands/Destiny kind of RPG/FPS hybrid.

just had a match and the amount of hackers online now was real. The only way they can handle this ****** client side implementation is to ban any modifications which means no sweetfx as a result. I can live with that sacrifice in favour for a cheat free experience.

Ubi gained a lot of ground with R6:S with me, so I was willing to give this a go and I'm glad I did. I'm not above having my mind changed, and fair play if they are finally getting their act together. Our disdain was not in vain if so.

It isn't now but when I posted, I think it was :p

Hmm, it seems like they blocked an awful lot out, that could be cause for concern.

My main concern for this game atm, I can see so much of New york, weapons, missions etc. etc. being dlc content. Won't be happy one bit if this is the case, however, if they price it sensibly i.e. not like EA's BF DLC **** then I will be "ok" with it.

TBF, UBI do seem to have changed their views and practices with the PC platform now, I think they realised how much damage they were doing with their false advertising "gameplay" trailers, buggy releases, slow updates/support to fix the issues etc. and needed to get PC's users trust etc. back especially since PC gaming is getting quite a lot more popular lately.

I am more than happy with the the division for gameplay etc. Yeah it is a shame the graphics etc. aren't e3 good but they are far from being bad. Let's hope they don't show any more false e3 videos again...

This.

The game in terms of colour, sharpness etc. looks good even without sweetfx.

Some more quick screenies, pretty sure graphics are bugged though as some textures look awful yet in other areas of the same thing/object, the textures look great

I knew there was cheating as it's been discussed here already, I just had no idea till I read this article that most of it is caused by people simply editing a configuration file or two on the client side. The server doesn't check anything to confirm your stats are correct. :( That is a massive oversight from Ubi considering this is a stats driven game!

If they don't fix this in time I can see the PC numbers dropping quickly once everyone starts suspecting everyone else of cheating.

Well I enjoyed the game but I'm not sure it will have lasting appeal. You soon come to realise that every fight is the same with scripted goons advancing towards your position, running right at your line of fire with a bat in hand!

Graphics were good, not E3 good, with some nice effects and overall decent performance. The gun play was meh, the weapons all felt the same but then this is an RPG not an fps shooter.

The PvP zone was probably the best fun, waiting for the chopper wondering if those around you were going to gank you. I noticed that players would purposely walk in front of an enemy you were shooting so you would turn rogue and they could freely kill you. I spent 80% of my time going rogue and ganking people who thought I was friendy (much lols)

How are they going to deal with hackers? does the game have any protection ? This will be the deal breaker for me if I decide to buy it.

Nexus you do know that the screenshots you have been posting don't appear. :p
Although if they are hosted on imgur then it could be down to Plusnet as people have been having problems loading imgur pics.
