The Division. Are we interested?

Ubi gained a lot of ground with R6:S with me, so I was willing to give this a go and I'm glad I did. I'm not above having my mind changed, and fair play if they are finally getting their act together. Our disdain was not in vain if so.

They did with me, clocked up loads of hours on R6, it was an expected unhyped game and well polished as well for the most part. Thinking about the latest AC game was pritty good as well. Then came Division and they hit the gameplay bang on the head and it looks nice as well.
It'll take a long time to come back from the damage they did in the last few years but they've made a good start in the past 6 months.

Thinking of taking a few days off from the 8th, does any-one know if it'll be a mid-night release or 12pm again, if so might start my days off on the 9th.

then delay the game because there is no way that this can be fixed in time for March unless the build is very old which I highly doubt.

As someone that does actually know a bit about game engines.....it isn't that big a deal. You can read the relevant sections of the UnrealEngine docs I posted if you want to understand a little of the subject. Replication attributes are a very standard feature of any networking engine.

Changing attributes to server authority and checking values isn't a big deal. Also very easy to Identity and Ban anyone that is trying to Temper with client values.

TL;DR : don't worry, I expect it to be fixed

I really hope they do. I like the game but for now I've had my steam refund and I'll sit tight until launch day reviews come in.

I have concerns about grind, and content, and rogue balancing....but not making some pretty trivial changes to the way attributes are handled.

My biggest concern would be content and balancing as well. Grind is not so much of a concern, infact I think the game should have plenty of grind -- everybody being at level cap makes levelling a pointless task, whereas players being at different levels based on their time played makes levelling a useful way to spend your time, it differentiates players.
Then again I grew up on korean isometric MMOs and not modern western MMOs, so I naturally tend towards the grind.

I loved Borderlands (never played Destiny) and that kind of gameplay appeals to me so the grind doesn't bother me too much. I do have concerns about content though.

I officially don't understand the online section of this game, people marked with skulls who have gone rouge are OK to kill. AI people who are purple are also OK to kill.

But twice tonight I have been shot by other players, their names turn red and I shoot back and suddenly I'm the one who has gone rouge. How does that work I'm just defending myself.

I haven't played long but only 1 person I have killed has dropped anything that I can put on a chopper.

Damn DZ needs a tutorial

I don't mind if it takes me days to level up as long as the content is there to do without doing the same thing six times a play session.

I had the same thing thus morning. Shot at someone marked rogue and went rogue myself.

You are being trolled, they shoot you once but don't do much damage, the name bar goes red as a warning but they are not rogue, you don't realise this, return fire, do more damage then your marked and everyone kills you.

Ignore these types of players, just give them a clap and move on.

Did they push an update? I'm seeing lots of scarves drop when I've never seen any before and seemingly a few texture glitches.

The game asks me to press space to start the game now and I got a bunch of actions pop up when I started.

The more I have played this, the more I seem to like it. Sure it is a little lacking of content but I can see the main release being a lot better in that department. I will certainly pick this up when it goes retail.

Absolutely they had red Skulls above their heads.

Lack of content is definitely the thing that stands out to me. A mate and I were left thinking what to do last night after spending an hour or so in the Dark Zone. I put this purely down to the fact, that it is a BETA and fully expect more depth when it is released. Having preordered through Steam I will be not be cancelling for sure.

The graphics look great I feel, I am set to high running on a 970, going for full eye candy hits me hard in places for fps.

I consider myself pleasantly surprised by the quality of this BETA and left optimistic for the final release. Seems on me saying that about Ubisoft.

I am not a fan of UBI but they do release some great games and this Beta has improved my respect for them a little. Still a long way to go but a start.

Not sure if I'm keeping my preorder. The beta felt very empty to me, not enough content. Hopefully Ubi will release some info regarding content in the coming days. Right now it looks like one of these games that I would play for a week or two and move on.

So developers knew the game would be simple to hack by having this implementation yet chose to run along with it?

From being a game I was considering buying this is now not even a consideration unless I see a decent response from the Ubisoft team on their anti cheat measures.

I'll be keeping an eye on Reddit on this issue.
