For anyone considering running a predominantly HE build, I can highly recommend it. I was getting a bit sick of trying to loot some AB gear, so decided to mess around a bit and came up with the following. I'm glad that 1.5 has afforded us a bit more flexibility when it comes to gear, although it took me the best part of 40 hours to find high rolled versions of what I needed to make this viable.
LB Chest - +5% damage one skill cool down, +10% skill power on none, +10% armour on two (Stam)
Skulls Gloves - +16% damage (Stam)
Spec ops pack - +200% Skill power (FA)
Spec ops Mask - +10% damage for ten seconds after using a med kit (FA)
Tactical holster - +15% Armour when in cover
Fire Crest knee pads - Only using these because of the high stat rolls (12% AED included)
AED - 58% (rolled on all possible gear)
Armour - 55.1% (All mods slots stam/armour)
Primary - LW M4 20.4k / +22 AED / 900rpm (+50) / Destructive, Vicious, Responsive (I've not used any DPS inflating mods on either weapons, i.e ACC)
Secondary - LVOA-C 19.1k / +23 AED / 898rpm (+48) / Destructive, Brutal, Responsive
Base stats - 363k / 495k / 116k
Because of the nature of the talents, there is never a time at which none of them are active. It's a very solid PVE build, but also holds up extremely well in PVP, as I have been finding out. When damage rolls up to about 550k and Toughness is at 770k (without survivor link), it becomes interesting....
The +16% damage from the Skull gloves is superb and means that more points can be dedicated to Stamina. Only "downside" I've found is that I've lost 10 points of AED. But the additional damage compensates. I've also dropped 200 points of armour because of the LB chest. I've been trying to loot another one with better armour, but no luck. Another pair of Skull gloves with crit chance would also raise the stats a bit. 400k, 500k would be doable with a bit of luck. All pieces were looted either in Lexington or while killing the LZ bosses. Going to stick with this now until 1.6 is released.
