*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

I think I summed it up pretty well.

The g36 was only considered OP in its current state when considering the long term fix for the health and stamina on the l35 enemies.

Bringing it in line with the rest of the AR's is a good move, but they should have sorted the enemy armour and stamina first before bringing it in line as it has now ****ed the game for solo players.

But as I mentioned, I have made up my losses already in terms of DMG output....and I would advise everyone else to try and do the same because when the l35 enemies do get nerfed, it will benefit you massively to have a powerful setup.

Also...SMG's didn't get nerfed at all, the crit chance was removed and replaced with crit damage. So roll crit change into gear or mods, problem solved.

Exactly!

It's amazing how some people can't seem to comprehend this :o

Jedi: fun man, see you there!

Gamble: see above. If you get anything I need I can trade you my items so you can sell those? With AlphaBridge gloves I can realise that build I think (although some pieces could use replacing) and still after Reclaimer and an FM vest.

Tek: playing solo DZ seems murder now, I don't do it anymore either :( see you tonight hopefully, let's get you those gloves!

Bud: I can appreciate your decision, and after hearing what they'd like to change it might be a good to hold off until then, I was thinking. Level 35 npc's won't be addressed until at least 1.4 - if we're lucky!

Just realised they didn't make all div tech yellow again? On purpose?

Sounds good as I need nothing currently lol! I just want to make money and help people do stuff for the foreseeable as I can run reclaimer/tank/dps/tac on demand for whatever group :)

I've accepted the damage reduction to the G36. After adjusting some of my gear, I'm still able to take down level 35s with relative ease. That said, they should have been open about the other changes they made to the weapon. As insignificant as the changes may be to some, the lack of communication from the developers only serves to create distrust. And in an ever changing, dynamically progressive game such as this one, accurate and open communication with your customer base is of paramount importance.

On another note. I'm on at 6pm for some dz action:)

dude - open eyes - all SMG's nerfed,G36 nerfed, centry nerfed, strikers nerfed, ninja nerfs and there will be more nerfs
if you happy with they lies "we not going to nerf anything, only buff" then no wonder they keep laughing at they player base and doing circus from Division

Nex +1

i dont think any of those were ninja nerfs? the g36 in particular, they said that before 1.3 was even launched.

they were all related to balance and build diversity, which i dont think is necessarily a bad thing. like i said earlier in the thread, id wager 90% of end game players were running sentry/striker/aug combo. it's not healthy for the longevity of the game.

It's amazing how some people can't seem to comprehend this :o

hey i get how tanky the NPC are, those new cleaner boss guys are a nightmare to put down. but the G36 was never intended to be that OP, it was only released to prevent the 1.3 release being pushed back. if the G36 was not released OP we'd still be in the same position today.

should they've fixed both at the same time? yeah maybe, but we've known for just over 2 weeks that the G36 is getting brought more in line with the other AR. the G36 was nice while it lasted but time to move on.

What they said they would do:
Reduce the base damage of all G36 Assault Rifles (estimates were 5–7 percent)

What they actually did:
Reduced the base damage of all G36 Assault Rifles by 15%
Reduced the range by about 5%
Increased the recoil, base recoil and per bullet
Changed the recoil pattern

Thats major weapon changes and they didnt told us about them untill data miners find out why G36 is so different (not damage wise).Thats pretty much ninja nerfs.

As for centry/striker nerfs - Nexus said perfectly - it should go both ways.

Tek - your post about lack of proper communication is spot on.Heck, they cant even manage lighting in SOTG

okay to be clear i wasn't referring to the stabilty nerfs. i agree that this should have been communicated, i get the sense that the community devs are frustrated on this too (they get the flack after all).

it would be interesting to know what the stabilty and recoil stats were like compared to the other AR before the nerf too. were they also way better than they should've been.

again not defending them not giving us this info.

i didnt see what nexus said about sentry/striker. personally i've found solace in the firecrest set, i think there are just as good builds out there and it has encouraged different builds.

calm down on the sotg too, they openly said they were short staffed for the stream. i get the feeling people are starting to pick holes a little..

But there are many gear sets that no one uses? Nomad gets sold/deconstructed immediately. Deadeye is actually WORSE than having no gear set on at all, only high level HE gear. Predators Mark is hardly used any more. After the Strikers and Sentry nerfs they've fallen away as well. Diversity now seems to be which two piece you run combined with which other two pieces.

im sure there are sets people dont use (blind goes straight to the vendor for funds here), and i agree the balance needs fettling following the new gear release. i think there is good potential though.

they also short staffed for testing ;)

so many variables though. test to production in any software environment is a pita. id imagine more so in a game that must have so many complex calculations.

we're 4 months in, i remember d3 taking some time to bed down with balancing too.

D3 was bad after launch, but D3 got new devs (who listened to community) and they made right decisions from the go.Im still playing D3 so i know how all things are there. And Diablo have a lot of fans because its not new IP.
Division is new IP and devs making stupid decisions,i doubt anybody going to wait till Massive fix game,at this rate we wont see Division 2 sadly.

Testing is a poisoned chalice. You could have a hundred testers play the game for 8 hours a day for a week (100x8x7=5600 man hours) and on the first day of release 100k people play it. Even after the first hour of release your testing hours are blown away. And, I'd imagine the majority of testing machines are all of similar spec. Compare that to some of the frankenbuilds people run in their own PC's and the mix of parts then it's incredibly difficult to get right. Sometimes I can see why developers like consoles so much!

*sigh*

Ok, lets just wait for this patch to address the toughness of the 35's first and for the time being I shall use the pea shooters to take them on  What is so hard to understand about them addressing the 35's first before touching any weapons or better yet, addressing both at the same time???

BTW, how long ago did they say about addressing the toughness/damage of 35's?

Yes you can say it was technically "OP" but like I said for the 4th/5th time.... it only appeared OP because the other guns are **** against 35's in their current state. I don't think I can lay it out any simpler than that...

So you conceed my point that the G36 is overpowered but they should have left nerfing it until they'd fixed the level 35 NPC health / damage issue ?

Fair point really. If the data mining is to be believed level 35s negate 50 % of damage and your damage mitigation.

They should just have knocked it down to 45 % with this patch and seen how things go.

Gamble/Momo/Radeon
You know at the 4 horsemen bit of DN where we were looking for areas to kill the mobs from and there seemed to be no room for 4 people near the truck. I just tried it and there is room.

Ran DN HC and no wipes, completed in 30-40mins.

That truck is the best spot and the RC cars don't touch you at all. They can be used for crowd control and the only threat came from mobs who chuck grenades but they go down easily enough.

I also experimented with different talents and Death by Proxy and Tech support are so useful over precision and one is none or one the move.

Have 2 best DPS sentry guys at front

Tact guy and another DPS Sentry/Striker/AB or Reclaimer/DPS guy at the back. Reclaimer not needed but good to have.

Happy to run through it again later tonight using this method. I will be using this strategy from now on as I can't think of anything better, was searching for areas last night when everyone went to bed lol

And my tactician build:

CF4pPZfh.png.jpg

Interesting interpretation of the tactician build by putting some points into firearms as well as stamina

I'm guessing you've got Skill power on the back pack and mask ? armor on the chest and holster. What stat do you have on your knee pads ? and i'm guessing the only firearms you've got is one piece + firearms on the holster or have you added any mods ?

Also ,does anybody else think a "share your build" thread would be a good idea? I love seeing what choices other people have made and using them as ideas to create my own build. Its a part of the game I really enjoy.
