*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

Nothing noticeable changed for me regarding stability of the G36 as I already used stability mods ;) accurate too and it came with the accurate talent so.

Tek: you DZ farming tonight? Thought I might join you and get two others and see if we can get you those gloves and a FM vest and AlphaBridge gloves for myself? If I come online I can do an hours worth, maybe an UG heroic too. Just musing.

Hope my mic is fixed now although I'm sure Jedi appreciated the silence last night :p

Yeah, I could do with a decent DZ farming session. I'm still after some Sentry gloves and another AR. Everything else is fair game.

@Jedi - Sorry about the other day. I was just in the process of logging out. Got shot in the back by some people I helped, who then took a green cache I dropped. Rage quit.

Hi everyone, just dig some investigation in the office and can confirm that this is indeed the case. The datamining is accurate and we apologise for not getting this information out to you.

Yep, they took a huge dump on the G36. :(

As much as I love the game I've put it down for now, hopefully they can pull there fingers out and sort it but I have no confidence in them. Hopefully catch you guys if they do sort it out :)

What's the context? That they overnerfed it by accident, or deliberately but didnt forewarn us?

Deliberate but didn't tell us it seems.

Im definitely in the mood for DZ now - farming maybe, and PVP if people try their luck.

Some people in work deserve to have a face off with O'Rourke.......

Originally said at 1.3 release it was OP and the damage as getting fixed at a latter date and thats all that was said. People noticed after patch it wasn't as stable, the guy who data mined confirmed 5 stats had been altered.

Massive now confirmed that yes they made 5 changes to it and community guys didn't know. LOVA-C or what ever its called is now the best assault rifle again.

For me there huge flaws with the enemy scaling and loot progression, I don't mind the balancing of the weapons and gearsets but there just making it harder to play casually.

The only way I can gear up past 240's is joining OCuk's who are geared and know what there doing, no way to complete current heroic with matchmaking and new DZ bracket is just stupid hard.

G36. nerf
before:
myDamageMax 165.0
myRangeOptimal 34.0
myRecoilBase 0.05
myRecoilIncreasePerBullet 0.03
myHorizontalRecoilLeft 0.028
myHorizontalRecoilRight 0.01
myTimeToMinAccuracyMS 1750
after:
myDamageMax 140.0
myRangeOptimal 32.0
myRecoilBase 0.055
myRecoilIncreasePerBullet 0.035
myHorizontalRecoilLeft 0.01
myHorizontalRecoilRight 0.028
myTimeToMinAccuracyMS 1350

What they said they would do:
Reduced the base damage of all G36 Assault Rifles by 15%.
What they actually did:
Reduced the base damage of all G36 Assault Rifles by 15%.
Reduced the range by about 5%
Increased the recoil, base recoil and per bullet
Changed the recoil pattern

bit naughty that the community guys weren't told so they could pass it on.

out of interest, what was the range and stabilty before nerf compared to the other AR? wonder if that was "too good" too?

not the first time they doing this huh?
and not will be the last
soon you will be lucky to get even randoms to play with
never saw such kamikaze devs in my 30years of gaming
whats the point of gear,if there will be no one to use it against? NPC's? Nah,lvl 36 will be even worse :D
game is properly going down with those idiots at Massive

They acknowledged that the l35 NPC's are too tough, which is why the G36 was so stated as "OP" originally, as they were thinking long term when they reduce the l35 health/armour. We would have melted them like they were l32's with the g36 as it is currently

They did it in the wrong order though or should have done both at the same time.

Bringing the g36 in line with the other AR's is a good move but only if they rebalance the l35 NPC's soon.

If you want to do runs on heroic stuff, give me a shout and we can get a group together for FL etc. FL doesn't take long now.

Bunch of babies crying over a nerf :D happens every time no matter what game or context.

I think the reason most people are so upset about it is because, there were two problems that the developers acknowledged:

  • l35 enemies were made too tough
  • g36 had too much base damage but only based on the l35 NPC having the correct health and stamina

But they fixed one issue without the other which has made the game impossible now for solo players.

Playing as a group is no different to be honest as long as there is a tactician which we always have so I don't care about the nerf from my point of view.

Besides I have made up my losses therefore "adapting to the change" which I said everyone will do anyway.

Also, people work hard at this game to do the hardest stuff whether it be via MM or LFG on OCUK discord, and some feel like their gear has gone back two steps instead of moving forward.

Finally, people were just starting to deal with the nerf when the datamining confirmed other changes were made without the community devs knowing, or the playerbase which is a foul move to make. They should be more transparent with changes.

I think that sums it up :)

Come on now.

surely that's the very definition of overpowered. The very statement tells you that it more power than the other guns, hence over powered.

They said on the state of the game that they've got the health / damage of the level 35 NPCs wrong. The G36 was helping people cope with that problem but the solution to that problem is not to undo all of the balancing they did in 1.3 and bring everything up to match a statistical anomaly.

The gun had 30 % more base damage than other guns, and only copped a 15 % base damage nerf as massive daren't nerf it anymore in light of the cries from the playerbase not to touch it at all.

rumor has it the level 35 NPCs negate 50 % of your damage and 50 % of your damage mitigation as this % scales with each level. The bump up to level 35 is too much and they know it. We've just got to wait for the inevitable patch that will come and sort the issue out. Massive have done the right thing.

Just look at it on a graph when compared to the other guns. Its miles ahead

*sigh*

Ok, lets just wait for this patch to address the toughness of the 35's first and for the time being I shall use the pea shooters to take them on  What is so hard to understand about them addressing the 35's first before touching any weapons or better yet, addressing both at the same time???

BTW, how long ago did they say about addressing the toughness/damage of 35's?

Yes you can say it was technically "OP" but like I said for the 4th/5th time.... it only appeared OP because the other guns are **** against 35's in their current state. I don't think I can lay it out any simpler than that...

dude its 1 weapon.

dude - open eyes - all SMG's nerfed,G36 nerfed, centry nerfed, strikers nerfed, ninja nerfs and there will be more nerfs
if you happy with they lies "we not going to nerf anything, only buff" then no wonder they keep laughing at they player base and doing circus from Division

Nex +1

I think I summed it up pretty well.

The g36 was only considered OP in its current state when considering the long term fix for the health and stamina on the l35 enemies.

Bringing it in line with the rest of the AR's is a good move, but they should have sorted the enemy armour and stamina first before bringing it in line as it has now ****ed the game for solo players.

But as I mentioned, I have made up my losses already in terms of DMG output....and I would advise everyone else to try and do the same because when the l35 enemies do get nerfed, it will benefit you massively to have a powerful setup as it may be like Monday...but with a quicker TTK.

Also...SMG's didn't get nerfed at all, the crit chance was removed and replaced with crit damage. So roll crit change into gear or mods, problem solved. current g36 cant be fixed as easy as that though, requires a good thought about the gearset and combinations you are running
