*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

I really miss soloing the DZ the most, used to enjoy taking out the q building, the pit etc with not to much effort in the 201+ DZ when that was the highest bracket as the only thing to worry about was getting killed by another agent hiding somewhere and not some ridiculous overpowered NPC.

The current DZ is fine if you in a group of two or more, but soloing it is just far to risky and no fun whatsoever anymore. The overpowered NPC's is now what ruins it for me and makes PVP bloody annoying as they deal more damage than the players.

On thing I would like to see changed in the DZ if it's to stay as it is, increase you DZ rank by killing NPC's as usual, but only other players should have the ability to make you down rank and loose money/keys if killed.

Getting killed by an NPC or another player then you drop the loot as usual.

I would happily solo the DZ again if I knew only another player could make me down rank or take my money, rather than getting killed over and over by NPC's.

Other players are what you should be scared of, not NPC's, and especially not in the DZ3 and lower bracket.

Yeah, it's a little crazy now when you're fighting other players in DZ5/6 and the NPC's are joining in for the LOLs. Bloody intense ain't the word!!!! :D

We may see a change once they nerf the lvl 35 NPC's and solo play might be viable again...but for PVE only I think.

Tbf I don't think it's going to happen, I suspect they're just gonna shelve it and leave us to get used to them. They aren't too bad if u have a Reclaimer chugging water all the time tbh, makes them like 34's :D

I have been in the DZ once since 1.3 came out and i didn't stand a chance.

i enjoyed soloing the DZ doing my own thing but its no longer possible so i have stuck to leveling up in the UG and seeing what gear i can get from there, a shame that you have to be in a group for the DZ now.

Even worse when you soloing and big groups of 33/34 NPC's show up from all four streets and nowhere to hide, didn't want the loot anyway :D

l35's are easy in a group without water or tactical link. DN for example, with the new spot and most people in a routine of doing it, SC + pulse and good DPS is all you need really.

However, the routine part is the main reason they feel easy. In the DZ if you are engaged with another player and trying to fight, you aren't in a routine scenario so can easily get yourself into bother with NPC's and if that happens, water/tac/overheal wont help at all - survival link will however, but then you will get ganked 5 minutes down the road by either a player who can still use their survivor link, or another mob.

I was doing PVP solo a bit over the last week or so, and when its me vs players - its amazing tbh, but as soon as NPC's get in the mix, it isn't fun anymore. (unless you force the mobs onto the other players lol!) I can solo up to the refuelling station comfortably on my own against NPC's with smart play and cover, but if I engage in PVP in DZ1 - and NPC's are near, I will definitely go down as there is too much to focus on.

Im actually thinking if they keep DZ as PVP, and don't want to reduce NPC damage, then they need to make the highest NPC level 34, and keep lvl35 or even 36 in PVE.

Like i said, one thing can be done (sure Massive not gonna do this, just idea)-in DZ you can wear only gold stuff,no gear sets (aka pre 1.1)-that way this will remove unbalanced gear and all OP sets, sure they need to nerf NPC's,otherwise DZ1 will be like DZ6 now,if not worse.
DZ madness started with gear sets and when they made rogue penalties to low,pre 1.1 was best DZ,even when loot drops were crap.

hmm, not sure about the gold only thing.

I think PVP is broken for three reasons only:
*Multiple squads being able to group up
*NPC's too tough to try and fight along side PVP fights
*Hacks are coming back/are back

If a 4 man group kills a 4 man group - they are simply better geared(not considering cheaters)

Multiple groups was before 1.1,never was a big problem since there was no OP gear sets, all was okey'ish, was best time in DZ.
About NPC's,they need to nerf them regardless.
Pre 1.1 was no problem to do 1v4,and 4v4 were absolutely fair fights,no matter how much your gear good, they, there wasnt that big difference between better gear/just gear, you had chance to kill other agents with better gear.Try now.
To win by having a better gear is not really a fair thing - to get better gear you need to have better gear ;) And that is the problem in this game-you either have to farm like there is no tomorrow (like we doing now with 4H) or go in DZ,or do UG and hope you dont get crap chests..
Cheats will always be there more or less, since its MP game, and where MP there are cheats.
Im not sure its not to late to fix DZ/game itself,as Gamester said in last few weeks sooo many people left..i have hundreds on my FL and now im lucky if i see more than 10 playing.

Having just gold HE gear would'nt solve the problem, as there will always be people with better gear.

Not keen on an arena either, find they are all virtually similar, just a different environment.

With gold gear there a wayyy less difference between gear and no any set bonuses, which makes some groups invincible.
Im not saying it WILL solve problem, but deffo there will be much more fair fights.
Thing about separating DZ into PvE and PVP only is started long ago,but then what PvE DZ becomes?

I haven't played the game for the last few months now, on the whole it just became a joke imo, the awful DZ system for the reasons listed above (I was one of those who enjoyed soloing the DZ), the awful loot + RNG, having to grind the same incursions over and over again in hope to get a good roll of sentry, striker or whatever urgh...

Looking at steam stats, the players are dropping big time now:

Imo the game has just become a mess with the last few patches, it doesn't seem like massive/ubi have a plan as to what they wanted from this game in the long run and are just making changes and adding things for the sake of it i.e. all the different types of currency, weapon kits, directive intel etc. etc. Personally I preferred the gold gear items more than the green sets, you had more unique builds that way, now every one just runs with more or less the same gear and weapons.

Massive/UBI need to make some big changes that the community want if they want this game to still have a player base for the next 2 DLCs.

Hats off to those who are still playing it especially the ones with more or less end game gear!

I think if they made DZ PVE only, it would need to be really ****** intense in the upper levels with the addition of new dz zones, height in terms of going into and up buildings. New mobs, more difficulty, make you sweat!! lol

In the new zones only, they would still need to make it viable for solo players or somehow scalable for solo players.

You know, reading through some of the ideas, you could actually make a whole new game, just set in the DZ., but you could also just make a series of DLCs.
Something like an S&D mission.
You play solo or as a group. With only one entrance, enter DZ, the rest of the map is locked. You then have to find the intel or person with the intel, before you can progress to the next stage. The map opens up another section, you then have to get the power grid up and running, so you can travel UG to the next section. Have maybe 3 or 4 of these search missions before you get to the Destroy mission and Final Boss fight. Scatter around a few crates and other goodies, which can only be found by pulsing, which could in turn be detected by nearby hostiles.
Now, that is the sort of thing I would like to see, something that will take you a few hours to complete. Come on Ubi/Massive. :D

Barring , a major overhaul, and i doubt Massive will spend a lot of time re-developing anything now - i think the game has run its course.

It was fun, i'm almost 900 hours on the same single toon - So i cannot be critical of monies worth.

I just find myself using it as a time killer, as its easy to just pick up run a few excursions/ UG runs.

Sorry, for declining invites from you guys, but my heart just isn't in the game anymore - Just the realisation the i've hit the wall.

I've reached a point, like many players, where any improvement of stats is reliant on such small things now, 10 points extra on a 740 plus statisic - that is is not even worth thinking about loot.

It would be a shame if Massive don't pursue a Division 2 in the future, as even after 900 hours i still find small details in the gameworld and think ' wow what a nice touch ' - For the gameworld and details in it - Massive deserve a pat on the back.

And as Twirly with Gamble said the other day,the 3 week silence is very hard to understand, its like they gone to a place where no internet exist,no updates or anything from comm managers (there surely are more heads at Ubi/Massive) is very strange.

With No Mans Sky and DeusEx coming in few weeks,i will see what next update for Div will be,not holding my hopes tho.

I don't get that attitude. Why do we need to be told anything ? what happened to the old days when you just bought a game and played it ?

Playerbase has seemingly become obsessed with developer interaction and demanding to know what the developer is doing. Some bloke was raging on twitch at Hamish. Ranting that he'd be sacked from his job if he didn't turn up for 3 weeks. The dude is on holiday ! jeez.

Mate, that sounds fantastic!! :D

I agree, division 2 should happen and they should learn from everything based on this one.

Graphics wise and engine - I think the current division is brilliant, content wise, without expanding the map massively, they are running out of space I think which is causing issues with invisible walls and such as they bork new content in.

Its just nice to know what is being worked on, but only Hamish is away. Im sure the French dudes could pick up.

And I agree, less focus on dev interaction, especially the threats etc they are getting but its a nice touch to have this interaction with them.

Even on reddit discord!! Some developers come on there and ask questions which is fantastic!

i know, it's not like they've suddenly stopped. they said it was happening.

i get the feeling there are only a few heads in the community team. i count- hamish, gabe, yannick, nachai (i think US based?) and they're not all available to stream quite often.
