Glad to be of help, should be a very intresting little project, i couldnt believe it when i first got pointed in the direction of this DAC as i hadnt imagined finding anything decent enough to buy the rite side of £100
Try the amp6 basic or amp9 basic. Great amps.http://www.41hz.com/
I'm a bit of a novice, but I have built a CMOY headphone amp and have breadboards/multimeters etc. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which kit would be best for my needs?

I was hoping you might show up.
Which ones have you built? And would it be feasible to combine one with the above DAC, in the same container?
Even with the right gear, SMD requires practice, but some people prefer soldering SMD's even! The main problem I suppose will be the different rails required for each circuit.
Any tips on what to look for in a PSU?
Well a PC PSU isn't ideal but it should work.I'm thinking of getting the Amp-6 kit. What does it come with? What extra parts would i need?
Would my PC PSU be ok to power it?
So, would anyone be up for building a Millett Max in the near future? I want to make one but I'm not entirely decided on what parts to get, etc, would be nice to have someone else to talk things over with.

I got the Amp6 basic, the extra's I needed was basically a chassis, small heatsink plus a few connectors and cables. Everything else is supplied.
41Hz recommends 30W or more, but I've used a 20W for removing SMD resistors with no problems...Perhaps random question but what wattage soldering irons are you lot using for SMD work?
