The Duke has returned

How do you come to that conclusion? The vast bulk of development was as a pc game only, it was designed as a pc game with console ports added very late in development. Gearbox handled the 360 port and another company done the ps3 port.

George Broussard confirmed that DNF was designed primarily for consoles despite being initially developed for PC. Hence, for example, the limit of two weapons. That exists solely because they couldn't come up with a convenient way to switch between more than two weapons with a console controlller.

The graphics look amazing even if that is the console version, looking forward to DX11 soft shadows though so the blockyshadows are not there for PC \m/

It's probably running on a PC acting as a pseudo-Xbox, as that's how the same thing was done in the previous demos.

I wouldn't hold your breath for DX11 support, as it's using 3D Realms' own engine(*), which predates DX11.

* I know it's down as an Unreal 2 engine, but 3DR rewrote pretty much all of it, so it's effectively their own engine. Apparently the only Unreal code remaining is the scripting stuff.

I liked the player doing things like turning all the taps on in the toilets, because that sort of juvenile behaviour is part of what Duke Nukem games are for. It shows that 3DR/Triptych/Gearbox understand what the game is about. It's not just another FPS. Drawing penises on things just wouldn't be right in, say, a CoD game, but it's perfectly fitting for a Duke Nukem game. Although this demo shows that a console controller isn't right for that, it should be fun with a mouse. Some sort of "art" gallery would be nice in multiplayer, for all the MS Paint style humour people are bound to do.

I have yet to see him state that anywhere, and if he had the 3d realms forums probably would have imploded. The only change for consoles i have seen "him" confirm is the limited amount of weapons you can carry at any time (and theres not even a link to that comment that can be attributed to him, just a random quote with no link attached). And even that change at one point wasn't even in the game, when the jace hall show loked at the game it clearly had the multiple weapons loadout in it. That doesn't mean its primarily for consoles, everything ive read states that it was developed for pc and that gearbox done the 360 port with another company handling the ps3 port.

Always disappointing to see someone fumbling around while trying to play an FPS with a controller.

Some more footage, nothing thats not been seen before, just longer sequences of gameplay instead of snippets of this or that.
