The easyrider shuffle- Many of you have failed....

Back when you were testing Ati drivers on the 2900xt. Forum was definitely a better place back then but i think that's mainly because Graphics tech was moving much faster so there was a lot more to talk about.

When you could flash the bios on 6950 and open it’s pipes to a 6970 :p

My thread on that became a Sticky...:D

Forum was a better place back then, less lies and toxicity from other forum members devoid of any self respect and wallowing in their own self loathing of having failed in life. :p

Make a veterans thread. Where all us old timers can jump in and talk about legendary gfx of the past. And the shuffle and flex LOL

I would say not, do you not remember the GFX subsection was closed for several days because of all the fanboy bs being posted?

I personally learned a lot from the forum back then, do you think somebody coming along these days is going to learn much about graphics cards reading through the threads these days?

I never end up selling my cards on these days, there are 3 PCs in the house; my main gaming machine, our living room machine for party/light VR games and my missus photo editing PC, I just buy for my main machine and push the cards down the stack in the house.

That said, even though I could afford to I would never buy a £1000-£1500 halo card from either manufacturer, they just don't have the value for money.

The 2080tis of this world are for people who have the money and don't care, you should expect their value to tank at some point when a new gen comes out, and if the thought of that huge depreciation annoys/upsets you then you couldn't afford the card in the first place imo.

My brother in law is cursing right now because he bought a 2080ti on finance to in a build with a 3600x about 2 months ago because he wanted "the best", despite the fact I advised against it. Now he wants a 3080 but is in negative equity, the mind boggles.

I genuinely think a veterans thread needs to be opened we need to reopen discussion and us old boys can argue about ATi vs nvidia again

Not really, I don’t post as much as a I did, My Legendary overclocking threads in CPU became less due to the stagnation of the cpu tech...

10 years ago it was fun to buy a 6300 and clock it under phase and run it 4.5ghz from its stock 2.3ghz IIRC :p

Yes, they're gonna learn the valuable lesson of being a cheerleader for a company because you threw money at one of their products. :p

Point is it got so bad at one point this subsection was closed, that's never happened since to the best of my knowledge. So the fanboyism isn't quite on the level now that it was at one point.

My god it was a golden age though...

Who can run Doom 3 quicker?

Is anybody managing to run F.E.A.R at more than 30fps?

Who is playing the new Battlefield 2?!

How does your Half Life 2 Lost Coast bench look? From memory the 2900xt smashed the 8800GTX about the only time it did :D
