The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I thought I'd share a few memories from the past regarding TES. :)

My Daggerfall and Redguard manuals which I got in the years that they came out (so Daggerfall was in 1996 and Redguard in 1998).

I cannot find my manual of Morrowind right now (it's hiding in the cupboard with my DVD of the game).

Here are three images from March 2006. On the day I got my Collectors Edition of Oblivion and I posted the pictures here on OCUK that same morning (I took the morning off to install the game).

I now cannot wait for this Friday!!!! :D :D :D
 
bhavv, I've got same screen as 2006 (the 24 inch dell). Keyboard is updated. Mouse is updated, computer is well updated (and I got a new SSD just for my steam games - Skyrim included - just because the drives are on offer). And my desk is still the same. It's just messy looking as I've been doing paper work all week. :(

So the only thing I have to do now is marathon-clean my room, my desk, and I'm ready! :)
 
Just found an email from game, my pre-order was posted on the 5th!
With any luck it will be here tomorrow / today since its monday.

It wont arrive early because they tell the couriers not to post it until the release date. Dont get your hopes too high.

I dont think it matters this time when it turns up as it is a steam game this time so it wont unlock untill the day anyhow but I know what you mean
 
Definitely a bit uncertain about this. I didn't really get on with Oblivion that well, but this game looks to be shaping up a bit better for my wants of the game.
 
started watching more vids of this recently and now firmly set that its a day1 purchase for me.
i loved fallout 3 but hated oblivion, I just hope i can get into this one.

Otherway round for me. Couldn't get into FO3 or Vegas but sunk some serious hours into Oblivion.

Looking forward to Friday.
 
Every time I watch videos of this I just feel like the graphics are dissapointingly dated (low poly/low res) and how much nicer it would have looked were it PC only. I don't think there's going to be much if any difference between the PC and console versions either. Hopfully mods will make it much nicer.

I am playing the Oblivion mod Nehrim. Skyrim should be much better in the game play and graphics dept or it's a fail..
 
Agggh I cannot wait for this! I loved oblivion, but I didn't find fallout 3 as good, however they are both wicked games.

Hopefully ill get it a day or two early from amazon :D
