The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I want to play as a magic/archer type sneaky guy so what class is best for this?

Also can you do stealth kills in this game? kill people from behind with 1 hit undetected? and how to do it

And that is why I rarely play games above default level, I'm here to have fun not get owned every few seconds because the enemies hit points have been increased to some stupidly high level.

Class doesn't matter. I'm just an imperial. Yup, stay crouched and used caps to slow to walking pace. You will get a 2x damage on a successful sneak attack (just shoot them when hidden)

I'm playing exactly that. I've got heavy armour and just sneak kill everyone I can with a decent ish enchanted bow

Anyone elses game started crashing again constantly recently? Even using the 4gb aware fix its still just crashing to desktop with no error or anything. Was stable until today.

oh i am imperial so u think i dont need to make a new game?

also how do you do above sneak kills on 360 pad?

Also if u shoot someone with bow do other enemies see or hear him dieing? If he is not kiled in 1 hit does he spot you?

Quite the opposite, since the last patch I've not had a single CTD, which I'm very happy about because they were becoming so rampant that it was starting to spoil the game.

Totally depends on your sneak level etc. Mines about 75 now so I can pretty much crouch in the middle of a corridor and not be seen unless they run into me or I shout. I assume on the 360 it's exactly the same - just crouch to sneak and kill from there. Won't guarantee an instakill; again it depends on your skill levels.

I find the leveling a bit stange. Even at low level the standards critters, such as, wolves and bandits are easy to kill. Then every so often I find a critter that I don't stand a chance against and can't run away from.

The first was when I saw a ruined house just off the road and got jumped by a spriggen and the other two times were both trolls. I think I will have to start using the quicksave a lot and just reloading after these inevitable death meetings.

Yeah when I first started out, bears were a real bitch. 136dmg bow with daedric arrows and a +35% bow damage enchantment are a nice match for most :D

How can you not run away, someone hasnt shot you with an arrow somewhere have they?

There simply aren't enough enemies to have a smooth curve which hopefully proper mods can address. Creatures are either too easy (Wolves) or too hard (Sabre Cat or Bear). And most of the time your first clue that you've wandered near an enemy too powerful to handle is when it hits you in the ass or starts chasing you down and by then its too late to do anything but reload since you can't escape it. Coupled with the arbitrary levelled creatures system that can't take into account your characters potential and you get sneak based characters strolling through all content because it can't see you and up-front combat characters getting trounced by the same foes.

i know, its not great?

Dark elf has better?

I dunno who to go? I just chose imperial as they seemed average

There is no such thing as 'better', just 'better suited for a given playtype based on starting skill bonus' and racial traits/abilities'.

Enjoy.

Mage with archery and sneak is pretty much my character. I am a Nord, just because it was Skyrim. After a few levels the initial skills level out. One advantage of Nord it the 50% frost protection, as you will fight a few frost type baddies I found this useful.

Other than that just do wha you want and the skills will come naturally.

why there are many frost attacking enemies in this game?

Is the imperials extra money any good? Do you need much money?

How about dark elf fire resistance

Or the high elf with 50 + extra magika

mayeb I should go high elf?

You're putting way too much thought into it. Forget the bonus stats, you're choosing a skin and not much else. Your character willl be defined almost entirely by how you choose to play the game.

I wonder if he heard it coming? :D
