The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Stupid question. But is there an effective way to make gold ? I always seem to only have around 1000 at any given point. I seem to be blowing loads on new spellbooks smithing materials :(
I swear I'm going to resort to stealing but I wanted to try avoid that ! :p

I've not stolen anything yet, but have no issue getting gold. But then I've also not had to buy and spell books or smithing materials. Just keep doing questions and exploring dungeons and you'll find plenty of spells/materials, and lots of other stuff you can easily sell.

I also just finished a quest (something to do with a woman deity,a temple and a sphere ;)) and almost every dead person in there had about 50-100 gold!

In hand to hand combat I can see different animations if I (say) left click and step right to if I left click and step left... Is there any difference to what actually happens (am I attacking on the non-shield side of my enemy if I swing and step left) or is there no real effect?

Cheers

TC

What can I do with the azura star once I have it and how do I use it?

If you gave it back to the woman at the shrine you have an infinite soul gem. Meaning you can use a soul trapping weapon to fill the star then use it to recharged enchanted weapons. Unlike regular soul gems the star won't disappear after you use it, the soul will just be used.

If you give it to the other guy then you get an infinite black soul gem. Same as above except it only traps the souls of NPCs, not monsters/animals.

Despite what the game says, the black soul version of Azura's star will trap monester/animal souls too

Lydia just got killed, nooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo... who is going set off every trap and carry all my junk now? :(

I totally love that your Companion will actually use the stuff you give them if its an upgrade for them. Lydia was getting knocked down once too often, so I started giving her stuff I didnt want rather than selling it. Shes now decked out pretty decently.

hm maybe i should start using a companion. I never thought about the fact they could carry a load of extra stuff for you!

Has anyone done the imperial quests, im trying to do regaining the rift but cant seem to find the evidence stuff about anuriel. Any help is much appreciated :)

To train smithing I read somewhere that you travel between cities with blacksmiths and buy out their iron ore and then create iron daggers. Sell the daggers back to the store and repeat the process?

Problem I've found is that they only stock like 2 iron ores, how on earth can I train smithing when I can only buy so few iron ore? is there a way around this?

You should enchant those daggers that you create. They will go from 10g sell value to at least (petty soul gem) 160g. That way you do up enchanting at the same time.

I have got enchanting to 100 already but I still enchant non-magic items that I find as the sell value goes through the roof, especially on the glass and ebony stuff.

She had a bedroom in the Yarls palace. Theres a guard that patrols the corridor, but if you time it right you can run into her room, grab the evidence from the drawer and get out before the guard turns hostile.

i havent taken a companion anywhere to do anything yet apart from my horse (who i think might be dead as he doesnt show up when i fast travel anymore. I left him on a mountain somewhere last time i saw him)

For all you peeps who loss a companion if you save the game using the back button on the Pc x-box controller (save game in time 1 to 5 hours pass) youre companion will pop up behind you no matter where you lost him.
I always use this because i mainly walk though the mountains and find high spots to scan the land and companion just cannot follow. When needed for a battle just save game 1 hour in time and he is there to help.

Plus how are people getting on with shouts have 20 now with upgrades.

Being a magey type, Lydia comes in very handy for me, pack mule and engaging enemies while I range them with spells and arrows!

I told her to do one once I got fireballs as I couldn't use them because they would hurt her. My plan was to make some fire resistance armour for her, but I am doing just fine without as I have my flame wench :)
