The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Where can I sell stuff, the Trader in Riverwood never has any Gold??

Where are some more Traders in Skyrim?

Plenty of traders in every major city, but the ones with the most cash tend to be fences, you need to be a member of the Thieves Guild to access those guys.

Also i would recommend the Rich merchants mod for anyone who hasn't tried it. There are 2 versions, one where most merchants get around 2000 and one where they get around 10,000. I think it was a mistake by Bethesda to give most merchants 750:o

I hope dlc/expansion gives us another decent sized landmass, the lack of a really big city is very noticeable to me, the game would be improved massively with a cith such as Imperial City form Oblivion as a central hub

(i know i have mentioned this a few times, but it is such a shame:()

Okay, so I've just got around to playing this (university module is a bit easier now, no more endorcine weeee) and I'm level 7.

I haven't used any perks yet as I don't want to waste them and fall into the RPG trap of having to restart. I have a feeling a mod will be made pretty soon to allow you to re-distribute perk points but still, I don't want to mess up.

A few things I'm stuck on when deciding how to use my charector:

What are the main differences between heavy and light armor? Heavy must have some drawbacks or everyone would use it, is it just weight? I've only been using light armor so far as it seems to be around more so all my observations have been in full light armor except for mage, which was using robes.

I haven't use magic at all tbh, I have few spells and despite having picked up these good robes from the first dungeon I get instagibbed and it takes me a while to take down a group of people. End up running around weighting for mana to regen. Does it get better?

I played around a bit with a battlemage. I missed the inability to block though and it just didn't feel like I did as much damage as a duel weilding/2h sword. I would be tempted to try out a dual weilding and then swapping in a healing spell when neccessary. Again, I missed being unable to block though and didn't like the idea of just spam clicking in combat until one of us drops. Does it become more tactical? Is battlemage viable or are you not as good as a straight mage/dual weilder? Do you just become a board and sword but with a magic sheild instead of a real one?

I quite liked 2h swords and 1v1 it was insane. Essentially one hitting people. I ran out of stamino SO fast though. I dread to think what it would be like in a 1v3 or something. Does stamina stay a problem?

I've used archery and sneak the most, I think. Sneak attacks and one shotting people is fun but I sense it could get boring. I also have a lot of trouble with boss guys. I can't one/two shot them and when they get in close I get merked. This means I think to go this route I'll also need to level up a close combat form as well and leads me to all my earlier questions.

Any reccomendations based on what your experiences are like at endgame? What style do you play and why? What do you think gives the best challenge/fun/playstyle?

Pretty much all of my perks have gone into archery and smithing.

Just wondering how many of you guys use the trainers to level your skills up. I used the pickpocketing trick and it spoiled the game for me. I'm thinking of starting from fresh and not using the trainers at all. But i know it will be bugging me, i wish it wasn't possible to do it.

I dont use them, I did at first for first few levels when they were cheap at around 300g per level, and then when they were 500g too, but after that they went upto 1500g each so I stopped using them, I'm level 25 and dont really see the point, just a waste of money so I dont use them anymore.

I've not played in over a week as I've been ill but hoping to get back into this game today :)

I used them during the first 15 levels or so until they became too expensive for me. But once I got a load of gold I started using them again, mainly for destruction and conjuration. It is worth noting that you cannot train over level 90 in any school.

Also if the trainer you want to use is also a trader then you can sell stuff back to them to recoup it.

That would be appreciated thanks. I'm an imperial (chose this to earn money quicker to be honest). My main problem is I'm very new to this - I've not played Oblivion or anything so I'm not clued up on whats good etc, and how to get them.

I've got an armour rating of about 200 now, but my weaponry is still bad. Best I've got (I think) is a 46dmg elven greatsword (exqusite). Need to get to smithing 60 and level up so I can unlock the upgrade magic weapons perk.

- Concentrate on levelling combat skills
-Try get some enchanted weapons from vendors
- When working through dungeons remember you can press T to rest. This will replenish all of your HP and mana.
- You don't really need the upgrade magic weapons perk. When you start creating your own swords just be sure to improve it before enchanting.

Finished the thieves guild quest, moving onto the mages guild - really liking the mages guild quest line so far. Lots of mystery.

Crafted some legendary daedric armour and weapons (both swords with two enchantments) - haven't made super weapons using the alchemy/smithing exploit, but I am pretty darn tough now.

I still find it weird though - most enemies are one/two hit killed at this point. Then occasionally you come up against a super strong enemy that can do the same to you. Certainly keeps things interesting.

Well while i still have this heap of junk i thought I would start to play some Morrowind before i finally get my new PC and Skyrim in January :D

Running on lowest graphics at 640x480 @ around 3fps - with it freezing every 5 seconds for a while... But it's playable :D

(Yes jump to sandybridge and a 560ti with Skyrim shall be MEGA)

I dont understand something about smithing. I have gauntlets and a neclce that together should give me 32% improvemnets on weapons and armour but i have tested by looking at the improvemnet with them equipped and with them not equipped and the fortify smithing stuff doesnt seem to help at all?

It's because the amount of fortify you have isn't enough to make a difference. Wear those items, use a blacksmith potion and it will work.

I've got so much jewelry and the normal shop traders keep running out of money. Looks like my task for today is to join the thieves guild!

Can somebody with a single GTX 580 (stock) give me a pic or reccomendations on settings? The stock "scan" of my system set a load of things up to medium? I usually just max everything out and assume it will be fine with my current rig (GTX 580 + 2500k + 8gig RAM) but this is the first intense game I've played in a while. I only play at 1680x1050.

Just max everything out.

My 480 maxes it at 1920x1080...

Also talked to Kaarthanax or whatever his name is last night. Got to say I like the fact he addressed me as Krosis, I thought it was a nice touch....
