It makes zero sense to me why so many of that demographic want to stay in the EU - they're the ones who really lose out. They have to compete with better educated, more experienced EU immigrants for entry-level jobs, and they can't get onto the housing ladder because prices are so high.

I was thinking about my personal circumstances and the impact of Leaving the EU. I think I'd probably be marginally better off if we stay in the EU, my parents; who are retired, will be much better off if we stay in the EU. However we're all voting Leave because we don't want to be where the EU is taking us.

I can't understand it either, but the young are naive and short sighted, I know I was one once.

I'd be better off in the EU really on balance, but I will not vote for a bureaucracy intent on ending national sovereignty and uncontrolled mass immigration which will inevitably lead to ordinary people being poorer.

I'm nearly 45, by the time England has been totally swamped i'll be dead if not i'll have moved abroad.

I don't live too far away from Mike Ashley town as it happens, and what a disaster area it is, and that's what's coming to towns all over the country.

I am a liberal, left-wing and I always have been, but if you cannot control who enters your country then you are not a country at all, can you imagine the US, China or Russia agreeing to surrender their borders?

No more needs to be said.

I don't have a crystal ball but I'm reasonably certain where the EU is taking us - United States of Europe.

Pretty much all my wealth is tied up in my house. Staying in the EU will protect that investment as the population rises to 80 million demand for housing will continue to outstrip supply.

So what might happen to your house value if we leave?

The UK won't "fall apart" once we leave the EU! We will emigrate, skilled people will come here, wanting houses... do you realise we, this tiny island, has the 5th highest economy? We import a lot more than we export, so if people didn't want to trade, their loss. We can set-up direct links to India, China, US and Australia the other 4 big economies.

GB will be wealthier, yet STAY cretins are still playing this fear card.

Oh we have a clever one here... loser.

Strong argument. Would read again. A++.

The level of discussion on here from some posters is very disappointing. A lot of posters seem to be overly hung up on the politicians and parties making the arguments rather than the arguments themselves.

The most hilarious thing is people complaining about extending the deadline because people couldn't register within the deadline due to a system malfunction. It would have been prudent for people to register in advance, but maybe some people only took an interest after watching Farage and Cameron on TV and so registered that night. Is their vote worth less than someone who decided months ago?

And extending the registration deadline achieves that how?

More of the electorate can cast their vote.

I was referring to the poster rather than anyone else.

I think you might have misinterpreted my comment.

The deadline has been known for months. You're just salty because you're relying on a bnuch of useless soap-dodgers.

So what. Who here would genuinely have a problem with electoral registration up until the day of the vote (if it was logistically feasible)? It is good for democracy to have a higher turnout.

Insulting people who don't vote the way you want is very telling of what type of person you really are.

The US is unfortunately struck with the same disease we are - you only have to look at the amount of illegal immigration they actively encourage to see that. Then you look at what's going on on US college campuses and it's all just really sad.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if we Leave the EU and reduce net migration then the population won't rise as much = lower demand for housing = lower house price rises (maybe even price drops  )

But all house prices will drop. You will not be any worse off than anyone else who owns a house.

So, you will be supposedly better off financially, but Achmed might move down the road from you, which is your real issue.

What are your rants even about now?

What's wrong with Facebook?

What's right with Facebook? A for-profit, walled-garden version of the internet that tracks every detail of their customer's lives and actively filters out content that runs contrary to the corporation's politics.

They were always eligible they just weren't interested. Until Facebook. That's what they were really interested in - Facebook.

I'm still not understanding why this is a bad thing.

My biggest reason for wanting to leave the EU is democracy. The EU is unquestionably undemocratic; some would say anti-democratic. **** immigration, **** trade policy, **** the economy - I care that the people who make the rules we're expected to obey, sooner or later have to face up to us unwashed masses and explain themselves.

So when I hear about more people being engaged with the democratic process, especially who otherwise might not have been, I cannot help but see it as an excellent thing.
