The Evil Within

Since this has black bars wouldn't it work in full screen on a 21:9 screen in the same way movies with black bars do? Im sure you could full screen it correctly.
Black bars are forced for every aspect ratio. Bethesda say they will let us have the devconsole commands to remove the black bars & add the 60FPS switch not sure that will be this evening when it unlocks @ midnight but should be the next day or so otherwise we pester them on Steam forums until they cave ;)

Important bits

R_swapinterval <NUMBER>•Sets the FPS lock. Note that the numbers below are negative.
•-2: This is the default, set to 30 FPS. This is the officially supported frame rate
•-1: This sets the FPS limit to 60. Fully playable, although there may be quirks (we’re going to fix these).
•0: This fully unlocks the FPS. We do not recommend playing above 60. We will not fix any issues above 60.

Toggledebugcamera•Separates the camera from Sebastian so you can freely move around.

R_forceaspectratio <NUMBER>•Sets the aspect ratio. Default is 2.5, which is our official aspect ratio.
•0 is full screen, but not ideal. 1.8 or 2 is probably most comfortable for those who don’t want bars.

Taking a long time to unpack its got to turn the 31GB preload into 41GB of game data using 50GB HD space in the process so mine still says another 23 mins its been going for 15 mins already!

Not a good start it fails to launch properly keeps crashing after playing the logos

This is after an epic 45 min unpack of preload data into 38.6GB.

You can fix the startup crashing by bringing the Steam overlay whilst the videos are playing then setting fullscreen etc etc

Forced 16:9 aspect ratio though not a good start it looks nextgenish on PC but also very sluggish on a GTX 780 Ti not sure what GPU this needs to be smooth @ 30FPS let alone 60 its not very well optimised first impressions technically are its not optimised at all if my Core i7-980X @ 3.46Ghz 12 cores + GTX 780 Ti cannot handle this smoothly

It uses idtech 5 it "should" be fine, but we'll see. Fingers crossed my AMD crossfire system doesn't implode with it. :/

Just loaded in, the menu feels sluggish as hell.

Also I've got pillar boxing on the menu lol! Despite the game being at full screen.
Also what a joke of a graphics settings menu
