The Evolution of Game Controllers.

You have no control over your fingers if you find the triggers on the ps3 pad un-usable ;)

But with properly designed triggers you shouldn't have to 'control your fingers' to stop them slipping off. They are tapered the wrong way to be naturally comfortable when depressed, that is a fact.

I find the triggers bordering on unusable because they make my fingers ache due to constantly fighting against slipping downwards off the triggers. Clipping on a set of 'real triggers' makes a world of difference and makes them taper the correct way, so when you push on the trigger your fingers don't naturally try to slip off like they do with the stock triggers.

It really surprises me that people have difficulties using pads.

I find the 360 pad and the PS3 pad both have their advantages and disadvantages. For racing games and FPS I prefer the 360 pad. For football games, hack n slash (even Ninja Gaiden lol), Skate I prefer the DS3.

I'm the same, I love the 360 for FPS/driving and I like the PS3 pad for Fifa, cannot get around using a 360 pad for Fifa.

This man speaks the truth. The DS3 ones really are tapered/angled in a weird way. I've had many an aching finger when playing resistance and killzone. I find theres less effort involved (its marginal but makes a difference in long sessions) with the 360 triggers.

How is that the case when Resistance and KZ2 use the R1 for 'shoot'?, you barely need to use the triggers, this is why I prefer the DS3 over the 360 pad for FPS's as I prefer using R1 for 'shoot' rather than a trigger as my finger aches, but I much prefer the 360 pad for racers.

Also purchase a set of 'Real triggers', they completely the transform the pad's triggers.

The Atari Jaguar controller  useless piece of **** designed by a 3 armed venusian rent boy   but to be honest the console itself was nothing more than a badly named door stop!

Kempston Joysticks (Cheetah ones with micro-switches though) > *

ps3ud0

Quoted for the absolute and inaliable truth :D

Surprised at the amount of love for the N64 pad, as much time as I spent on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark I dont think I was ever comfortable with the three pronged monstrosity.
Liked the Playstation controllers but always found them a little too small which caused a bit of discomfort after prolonged use.

The 360 pad is my favourite, stick a decent dpad on the thing and itd be perfect.

I find the PS controllers the best, with the exception of the sixaxis because the weight of it felt strange.

For me, the 360 pad is just far too big, and the analogue stick is in the wrong place.

But the worst has to be the N64 controller. An analogue stick in totally the wrong place, and the whole thing was made out of the most fragile and tacky plastic known to man.

I agree with you completely, the DS3 is awesome imo and the 360 pad analogue stick is incredibly awkward to use, especially once you're in an intense game. The size is nice but I really cant understand why people bum it so much
