I think the only objectional part of the first one was the love interest bit with the girl. That and the guy who plays Batista in Dexter. He can't act for poo. Everything else was pretty epic, with at least some/I] decent acting in the form of Mickey Rourke's little monologue.

Eh? I didn't get that impression at all, in fact the whole thing seemed to be designed to mock action films.
Seems you're in the minority there, I'm afraid. Everyone else pretty much thought it took itself far too seriously. Compared to something like Commando, it certainly doesn't lampoon the genre.
Im with Tute. No way did it take itself seriously.
You cant make a "Commando" like film these days it would completely bomb!
It took itself as seriously as it needed to to make money and no more, It knew exactly what it was. Loved it and cant wait for this one!

Just got back from seeing the film. The first film was ok, but this one was fantastic. Also very funny

Absolutely loved this last night, such an improvement on the first and it did everything it could and should have done. Some of the most fun I've had watching a flick.
