The FA CUP Semi-Finals 14/15 April *** Spoilers ***

That top image is a photoshop, and a really bad one seeing as it still doesn't show the ball having crossed the line. No goal, ridiculous decision. Almost as ridiculous as Young's dive (again!). Wish he'd just stayed on his feet. He scores so many goals from much further out in exactly the same way, so why not just bury it instead of going down. Frustrating. Didn't affect the outcome of the game though; Villa were awful.

Balls in the same position as the second one?

Looks over the line to me. Look at the number 9 on Terry's shorts.

If you look at the ball rather than Terry's shorts you'd see that it's not over the line. The camera's not in line with the goal line so it can be slighty deceptive but it's still clear that the whole ball is not over the line. On the line at best.

Are those two images above genuine? If so, regardless of whether it is actually over the line or not, it certainly makes it less of an awful decision than it first seemed (from video replays).

Yes they probably are but, realistically a 3d view in real life should take away most of the guesswork of that, while a 2d image can't really easily show exactly where that ball is.

The simple fact is, even if the ball went over the line the ref has to be 100% sure to give it, the same for any big decision. Its "don't give it unless ABSOLUTELY sure", given that its so unclear the decision therefore not a goal because there is not a chance the ref could be that certain the ball went over.

Goal.

Yes Spurs got robbed for that goal and we'll never know what might have happened now, but the bigger point is that the FA/FIFA STILL wont do anything about technology in the game.

You could set up a 1st gen web cam in the goal and that would have stopped all of what happened with Chelseas second.

I still think Spurs would have taken a beating, Gallas and Ledley looked really shakey for a lot of the game and as soon as their FBs pushed up, they looked even worse.

Nevermind, cant say im too upset with what happened today, im a Gooner and after all the stick ive recieved from Spuds fans for the season, i cant help but chuckle at how their season is ending up.;)

lolperspective.

The ball isn't at ground height so you can't just draw a line. By the same line, Kyle Walker's head would be over. Extreme example but you get the idea.

I don't think the first one is, but the second one I posted certainly is since it's from Getty by an FA photographer. And I do believe it's the photo that was talked about on 5Live in which the guy said it was inconclusive.

Clearly. The black line is there just to show where the goal line is under the mass of bodies.

Anyway, looks over to me.

Disagree. Inconclusive due to perspective.

ITV showed a video where they had the ball positioned and it wasn't over the line.
