The FA CUP Semi-Finals 14/15 April *** Spoilers ***

yeh the sooner video replays are in the better, atleast there will be no room for error then.

goal line technology is a grey area, i doubt it would be 100% accurate.

the more worrying thing though, is the basics the ref's and assistants are getting wrong, it's simply bizarre.

I get bored of these debates after a while it always seems the same, look how close it is and people are still talkingit, is it, isn't it? The ref gets no replay, no fault of his own might we remember and gets the one chance to see it. It's a difficult job that needs help in some way so hopefully it gets sorted.
From that picture it at least looks like it is over, tbh though it seemed to make little difference on the game it seemed quite one sided for the most part and Spurs were just not at the races, the better team on the day still went through which is the important bit. If the game had been decided by that goal alone, at 2-1 then yes it would be different but it's over.

What a great day, have many pics that I'll upload later.

It was a wonderful day, here are a few of mine:

what a great post. of course it made a difference spurs were at the races and i wouldn't say chelsea were the better team up until then, it was even, probably edging in spurs being the better team.

a ref should never ever make a decision on something so crucial if they can't be sure.

all the decisions went against spurs. rubbish refereeing has ruined a game. even the referee has apologised, so your justification is nonsense.

is that of your lot booing the minutes silence?

None of that was filmed during the minute’s silence. :(

There was not only some booing but also shouting coming from the upper tier of the ground. Some of it was also coming from the other end. It was disgraceful behaviour by a very small minority of fans. Action is being taken to identify those concerned and action will be taken against them.

Am I the only one who is still surprised that the ref is being given so much grief? I may be biased as a Chelsea fan, but this picture below clearly shows that it was a MUCH closer call than the initial TV replays showed:

I personally think it's over there, I may be wrong, but my point is that from where the referee was standing it probably looked even more so over the line. You certainly can't blame Mata for celebrating because again, where he is it probably looks over. It's all well and good looking at a still image and arguing, but this happened in a split second, so to have a go at Mata and/or the referee is a bit unfair. It's certainly far enough over the line to make it a close call, and doesn't really justify the "Terrible ref" and "Chelsea cheats" comments I've seen on here/Facebook/news, etc.

That's where you're going wrong :(

the ref was a fair few metres behind, there were players in the way, players on the line and from his view, he would never have been able to do anything other than guess. an official is not there to guess. mata's celebration sold him.

itv did a computerised view showing it was not over the line by quite a margin but even if it was over the line, the ref would've been guessing.

I'm completely with Squirrel, from what I can see (call me biased all you want) that looks over the line to me. I'm giving my genuine opinion, to me it looks over the line.

Anyway who cares, 5-1 :D

Enjoy. Pictures taken with HTC Desire
