The FA CUP Third Round - 5/6/7 January *** Spoilers ***

How did the ref miss that handball?

That is possibly the worst decision I can imagine. Defenders raise their arms slightly in the area as they try and jump and penalties are given. Suarez' arm is about as far away from his torso as it can be and it is not a handball.

The ref of that match should retire.

(Also, looks deliberate but Suarez already has achieved pure evil status in football so not really surprising. I might be shocked when he sacrifices an Everton supporter to the Kop End at Anfield though, not sure yet.)

Whilst speeded up gifs hardly tell the whole story I'll be honest when I saw it live I didn't think it was deliberate and looking at those gifs I still believe that.

The hate for Suarez is actually pretty boring now, he's still got a face I'd love to smack but he's cleaned up a lot of the negative parts of his game under Rodgers, only thing left to get rid of now is that horrible little snarl he has when he appeals for every single decision - he has a look of someone who's just had a loved one murdered in front of him there's that much anguish :p

The reason I think it is deliberate is because in the first part he runs with his hand by his sides, despite trying to keep balance. In the second part when the ball is loose his hands suddenly shoot up.

The only reason Suarez is interesting is because people still try and defend him as being not the most loathsome player in the PL.

It is a useless point; the ref should have done his job. Shocking stuff.

The only reason? So he's not playing out of his skin and lighting the premiership up with his dribbling, skill and goals? I assume Bale's only interesting because he plays like a drunk that can't stay upright?

99% of these long winded "CM is baiting us" arguments happen because people insist on bringing it up, how about you stop that. It comes across to me as 10 people bullying one person, not one person baiting and being ignored by 10 people.

this is spot on. if you can't take a few home truths or my observations on a game, put me on ignore. simple.

it's almost as if certain posters wait for me to make a comment on an actual incident that happens to their club and take it as a complete wind up, rather than the observational comment it is.

i'm not going to say i haven't made the odd tongue in cheek comment, because i have and so has everybody else.

when i see a comment about spurs, do you see me requesting that person be banned? or is it, just maybe, that liverpool seem to make good talking points, often for the wrong reasons more than any other team? i comment on every team that has something worth talking about. that, surely, is allowed and is the purpose of starting a thread?

i'll wait and see how the united v liverpool game goes and see if you're all still so 'pally' with one another, purdy, tom84 etc as it's quite frankly laughable for 3 reasons 1. you've both done the same as me 2. it's a football forum 3. show me where any observation i have commented on was out of order?

i've never resorted to a personal attack. i'm talking about the club, the players, not people who post on the forum, this is allowed, is it not? if you have a problem with that, the simple thing to do is hit 'ignore'.

You mean the first part where he is running and striking the ball followed by the second part of attempting to stop/slow down once the ball has been hit.

@cm wouldn't call me and tom pally but we aren't both jibing at each others clubs a couple of times a day, we will I'm sure disagree heavily on stuff next sunday, we won't spend the next year taking digs every other post

Exactly, for all his personalty faults the guy is the second highest goal scorer in the PL and probably having the season of his life. I might not like him but it's hard to say he hasn't been anything other than excellent this season.

Just a shame for him there's a guy called Robin Van Persie around :p

the jibes are observations of your club. i get a lot at mine too, mostly, 'bale walks to training', 'AVB has a ginger beard', 'bale is a cheat'. and others.

all good fun, just a shame people have to resort to personal attacks.

difference is, i couldn't care.

You're confusing things again cm. The comment about Bale walking to training isn't a slant on Spurs, it's a sarcastic comment aimed at Snax's decision to ignore Bale's cheating (because he walks to training) while criticising others. And AVB's ginger beard is because of the way that whenever somebody tries to have a sensible debate with you, you usually resort to some kind of childish nonsense.

I'm wrong Suarez not most loathsome. Terry has managed to country mile that from his off and on the field antics. He doubles up at being a tool whereas Suarez focuses his efforts to on field only.

Edit; I think it is deliberate because he was in perfect control lighting up the FACup with his dribbling with his arms low. At the very least he tried to make himself big by shoving his arms out when the ball broke loose. But arms are never legit for outfield players in football so the act of making himself big by shoving his arms out means the handball was deliberate; I think this effectively ends up as the same argument used to penalise defenders in the box when their arms are out. . I don't actually care or know whether he intended to slap the ball, I just don't think he was doing it for solely balance.

Suarez can be excellent but I don't think he lights up the EPL; the best thing I have seen was his pass to Sterling. RvP yes but not many others consistently do amazing things in the EPL at the moment. It has been a poor season for quality. Oscar has done some nice stuff but no more than Bale, Suarez, Mata or Cazorla.

Also- I don't ignore Bale's cheating, I don't think it exists. If there is contact, no dive. Theatricality is what it is; when refs give fouls and penalties yo players who stay on their feet theatricality will disappear.

We get a lot of fans screaming about all his bookings for dives that, on second sight, had contact. The cards were given in error and yet are still used as ammunition against Bale.

My personal view that he actually sets a good example on and off the pitch and seems to have kept a level head us blasted for what? Jealousy that few other players in the EPL act with dignity? Are we left with the Neville brothers, Scholes, Ryan Nelson and a few others who set reasonable examples? It is a fairly poor attempt at baiting normally by Liverpool fans to try and detract from the continual negative attention Suarez receives.

and what sensible debates would they be, Baz87? the one where i make a comment on an incident and you don't like it and tell me that AVB has a ginger beard, get over it?

well, personally, i think he has the beard as he is only mid 30's and wants to actually look a little older (whereas most people would want to look younger) but, due to the nature of his job and the football industry, there is the (and rightly so) belief that one can only be succesful in football management with experience, hence the fact he wants to look older, more distinguished etc with a view to being taken more seriously as although he has a cv that is nicely jewelled with credentials, the sacking at chelsea still hurts. the bloke has passion, he has shown good tactical ability but he has made mistakes but he is learning.

the passion and desire he has to win was clearly evident in his emotional and animated release at OT at the final whistle of our victory. this was a massive scalp for him and raised him but he still needs to persist with the beard. maybe it's become almost like samson and his hair, if it goes, so does his mental strength as opposed to his physical? .

he's a little timid when it comes to getting involved with the fans, ''andre, give us a wave'' often goes unsatisfied and he doesn't give much away to the media. infact, he is the polar opposite of redknapp and that is extremely refreshing. so, the beard, the persona, the 3rd in the league. is good for me.

I'm feeling the love in this room

You're lucky Suarez didn't do that next weekend, then there'd have been fireworks :p

edit: CM has achieved something that I don't think anybody else has ever done though - united Liverpool and Man Utd fans.
and what sensible debates would they be, Baz87?
Short memory? We went over a few of them the other week.

Are you being serious with your analysis of his beard? :D

You're a genius cm.
