The FA CUP Third Round - 7/8/9 January *** Spoilers ****

A better ref also wouldn't have sent off Kompany and would have given the hand ball against Jones.

Can go both ways i know but the game would have been very different.

You lost, accept defeat with grace and don't start blubbering, the ref wasn't great for either side and Kompany was stupid.

Lost to some disgraceful decisions, why should i accept that?

Kompany was stupid? what for winning the ball perfectly. No reaction from Nani says it all really, if there is a sniff of a freekick or card he will take it but he just turned round and tried to win the ball back.

I suppose you're not the first person in the world not to get that ball-to-hand isn't handball, but, well: Unintentional handball isn't handball.

The Kompany sending off was a bit of a mystery yes, but it's impossible to say how the game would have gone 11 vs 11. United's first goal was completely against the run of play, and yet they still scored first.

Scholes was shot when he was attending first team training every day last season.

After 4 months of having the odd session with the reserves, he is a million miles off the pace.

Fergie, stop looking for every excuse under the sun to not sign a midfielder and get it done.
It's weird that a player who could notoriously rarely finish 90 minutes in his prime, is still playing at this stage of his career. Maybe Ferguson's discovered a loophole that says Segways are legal on the field?

Yes, diving in two footed, studs up with a scissor action is at more risk of getting you sent off than not, that is stupid. Kompany knows that I'm sure.

The thing is the commentator said this as well, why should he have to react?

If he'd dived or waved a card then people would be having a go at him!

It was a stupid challenge and a clear red, you can have no arguments with the ref, especially after he let you off with Kolarov's second penalty foul.

When a win feels like a loss eh?

We really should have taken them to the sword second half it was all set up to go and score a 4th and 5th but ah well. Credit to City for their second half comeback.

As for the red card the letter of the law says it's a Red just as the letter of the law says Evans had to go back in October. Swings and roundabouts.

LOL at Biz thinking they should have had a penalty on Jones :o

But it is hand ball and hand ball inside the box is a penalty, no?

Of course it is impossible but with 11 men there is a much better chance of a win.

SAF - "We made them better than they were."

Agreed, second half was awful.

Kompany was stupid lol... You can't seriously think that was a red card, it wasn't even malicious.

It looked that way to the referee obviously, see my other post about it just above yours.

You lost to an Average Average player.

Give over.....you lost because you scored less goals....Kompany should know that two feet, studs showing is going to risk a sending off......

Utd denied a stone cold penalty, City denied one that was questionable at best....

City lost because they simply didn't take their chances, and Kompany made a poor decision with his choice of tackle.
